The venue provided us with incorrect barcodes on tickets that we paid an exorbitant amount for; after which they blew us off, sent us away, ignored us, and, when we went to the assistance booth called security and, I found out later, my place of business (that I got the tickets through). They eventually corrected their error and the concert was excellent; but the way that Van Andel Arena treated us was horrendous and uncalled for. I will never, NEVER AGAIN go to any event at this venue.

We went here for Monster Jam. There were a lot of people, but it was amazing how quickly they shuffled people in. I was misled that no bag bigger than a clutch, but there were quite a few people with large bags. They just had to get them looked at, which is different than no bags. And every single usher we came across was SO delightful! They greeted you, pointed out your seat, chatted for a minute and even offered to take our picture without asking. The staff was phenomenal! Makes this experience even better!

Staff was friendly and helpful. We had good seats and the concert was magnificent. The one thing that I found disconcerting was we were not aware that you could not carry a large purse into the facility, so after we waited in line for a while to enter the building, my husband had to go take my purse to the car that was parked more than 4 blocks away. This should have been visibly posted outside of the venue as several others had to do the same.

I saw Sting here with my wife and mom last month. Great sound/acoustics, the seats had excellent visibility, and I loved the small arena atmosphere. There were a lot of options for concessions, including a variety of drink choices. The bathrooms were also spacious, which meant there weren't huge lines after the concert. The venue is centrally located and an easy walk to a ton of restaurants, bars, hotels, and other attractions. We will definitely be back!

It has been a while since we had been here and we were here today for Disney on Ice. I want to compliment the staff we encountered during our visit. Everyone we met was very helpful and seemed to anticipate our needs so we didn’t have to ask. We had a handicapped individual in our party and they took very good care of us. We couldn’t have asked for more. Great job!

My favorite place to see a show. Multiple concerts and GR Griffins hockey games. Easy to get to and find parking. Decent places to eat within walking distance and best of all, easy to get out of when your event is over. Have tickets to see another concert there upcoming.

I have been to many Arena's across the US, but this has to be one of my All-Time Favorites. The sound quality is 1st Rate, and it doesn't appear to have a bad seat in the entire place. Van Andel Arena is simply a Great Venue. We enjoy travelling to Grand Rapids to take in the shows. If you are looking for a great place to see your favorite Band or Singer, make this a Destination to try. You will not be disappointed.

The size and design of this venue is perfect as there is barely a bad seat. Obviously for some events it is best to choose certain seats, but even up in the balcony, the stage seems close. I enjoy going to events here. Located in the heart of downtown, a bite to eat is always close by for before or after a show.

Attended the Eagles concert at Van Andel Arena last night. While the Eagles put on a great show, the acoustics were terrible - the poorest I've ever experienced at a concert of any kind. Sat is Section 107 which is prime seating in lower bowl, and I paid for it big time. So when the concert began and an obvious and irritating echo appeared simultaneously, I was really disappointed. Some strange and very persistent type of echo/sound seemed to come from the back of the arena. It was impossible not to notice, so I hoped the sound crew would deal with it at intermission, but it stayed right to the bitter end just like the enthusiastic fans. I even resorted to plugging my right ear which removed most of the echo, but who wants to listen to the Eagles with one ear plugged? It is too bad because the musicianship among all the members of the band was outstanding. I don't know if this is a problem with Van Andel that just can't be eliminated or if the Eagles sound crew messed up, but it put a real damper on an otherwise great concert. I don't see reference to this problem in other reviews of rock concerts at Van Andel, so maybe the Eagles crew are to blame. If true, shame on them because it was really distracting and disappointing. After this long touring, these kinds of problems just shouldn't be there, and if they are they need fixing before the concert ends, and before my one chance in a lifetime to listen to the Eagles perform live is forever tainted. If the sound crew couldn't hear this acoustics problem they must have both ears plugged. Inexcusable. I'd never risk attending a concert at Van Adel Arena based on my experience with the Eagles concert.

Enjoyed it. Smaller venue so the crowds aren't overwhelming. Easy to get beers except having to show your ID to the same person every single time. Stay at the Courtyard and take the skywalk.
