A real jewel! The staff make this place so special
Sep 2021 • Couples
I was taken here for my birthday, the spa was an amazing place to relax, we stayed in the manor house, such a beautiful room, with amazing views, lovely original features with modern touches, super comfy bed, and a delicious meal in the restaurant. But the real stars of this hotel and spa are the staff. They made us so welcome, we didn’t get the names of the spa staff (sorry) but you were all brilliant. The owners and management of this business have a wonderful team and I hope they get to hear of this. We were looked after by Casey, Jack, Ahmed, Laura, Keith and Paul. A big thank you we’ll be back.

Fantastic spa day
We came for a spa day and the experience was amazing. The staff were brilliant at running things smoothly and safely. We enjoyed a 55 minute facial which was just fantastic, I think my masseuse was called Laura. The afternoon tea was also delicious and the scones were the best part!

Outstanding spa
Me and my friend came for a spa day yesterday, it was our first time here and we were so impressed. The facilities were fantastic, staff really helpful and we both had an amazing facial which has left our skin glowing.

I love that Stanley house isn’t over crowded by too many different people in the spa at one time, that’s a real plus and benefit. The location is gorgeous and the grounds, restaurant & waiting area were extremely clean. Both me and my friend loved our experience here & it’s great value for money.

Food was nice and the general atmosphere was great. I can’t express enough that the limitations on how many people are in the spa at one time are just fantastic. Wasn’t noisy, over crowded or full of different couples; it was just perfect!

I can’t wait to return!

Lovely Stay
Dec 2020 • Couples
Me and my boyfriend stayed for one night on a really good deal which included overnight accommodation, breakfast, two course meal and a glass of Prosecco each (although we didn’t actually get the Prosecco but we weren’t bothered because we don’t like it!) we also added the spa and back massage each.

The room itself was really nice! Bathroom very big and all very clean. We didn’t have any milk but reception brought this for us no issues.

The spa isn’t the biggest but still very nice plus the staggering of people entering the spa allows you to get a bed for a bit because there’s only 4 available. I really enjoyed my back massage and it started with a exfoliating foot treatment at the start.

We both really enjoyed our food and were surprised yet very pleased to find out the steak (which is the most expensive meal on the menu) was included in the two course allocation we had.

Breakfast the following morning was also really good, lots of choice and can’t fault it!

We enjoyed our stay at Stanley House the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are spacious and comfortable we had a lovely view from our room. The breakfasts were amazing with a really good choice although my partner would have liked hash browns and my friend wanteaasfkj
Haafdh
Khd baked beans and we were told only if we had the vegetarian breakfast which was a bit of a shame as everything else was lovely. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and my only complaint there was that you didn't get much food on your plate and I left still a bit huangary even after having the cheese board. Having said all that I would go back and stay again. Lovely friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you.

Attended a wedding here
Mar 2019 • Family
We attended a wedding and stayed the night.
Venue very nice for the ceremony and food.
The food was ok but could have been hotter, this was the wedding breakfast and breakfast next day.
We found the evening venue very crowded, not enough seats and very noisy, the room was a funny shape some tables on top of dance floor and some hidden from the main wedding.
The accommodation was very nice, large rooms, we were 3 in our room, they knew we were 3 adults but one bed only had 1 pillow on it.
The milk only did 1 drink in the evening so none left for morning tea.
Small things but when charging top prices you expect these details to be addressed
Like wise during the wedding breakfast I requested extra Jus. and had to ask a second waiter as the first one did not bring any.
I know I am being picky as the venue is very nice and I would go there again.

No Service For Speculative Guests
Feb 2019 • Friends
Visited this place shortly after 10pm on Friday night and was told that we could not use the bar as they do not serve non residents after 10pm!

I can only imagine that business is that good here that they don’t need any passing trade.
Just for the record there was no one around at the time and the place was quiet.

Not a place I would recommend and I don’t say this lightly as I have many reviews on here ...

Best spa experience.

This spa and the treatment rooms by far is a hidden gem. With great ambiance and a feel of pure luxury and relaxation.
The staff are great and make you feel rushed. Great place to unwind.
Making the use of the spa once a week from now ..

RIP OFF
Oct 2018 • Couples
We recently stayed for two nights at £250 per night. When we got into our room I was immediately underwhelmed by the decor and general average appearance for a high price room. As we settled In we naturally tried to charge our phones - not too much to ask. When we tried to use UK Apple phone chargers they wouldn’t fit into the plugs in the wall. It turns out that the majority of the plugs in the room are foreign (?!?!?!?!) so receptions solution was to bring us an extension lead to run across the le goth of the room from the one UK plug in the room. Have you ever been in a UK hotel and had the issue of foreign plug holes, let alone a £250 a night hotel?!
After complaining reception moved us rooms after ‘we only put people in that room if we’re desperate ‘ (if you have spare rooms why put us in there then?!). The new room was nice and had UK plug holes.
Please note the spa - I wrongly assumed that the spa facilities would be free for £250 a night paying guests (obviously not spa treatments just use of the pool etc) - after all, most hotel pools are free to use right?! Wrong. We were charged £20 to use the pool. At least you can use it at your own leisure though right?! Wrong. You have to book in a two hour slot to use said pool. Again I reiterate - have you ever been to a hotel where you’ve had to book a slot and pay to use the pool?!
Tbis hotel has a historically very luxurious reputation - I cannot reiterate how disappointed I was And I really wish we had stayed at a local alternative - the millstone at mellor. Save your money, regimented pool time slot and travel adapters and go there.

Fabulous Treat
Oct 2018 • Couples
We have stayed at Stanley House before albeit a some years ago. As a treat we booked an overnight stay for a little celebration. On arrival, the grounds and gardens are breath taking. The main entrance and restaurants are extremely well designed and appointed. We opted to stay in the "new" part of the hotel complex as opposed to the themed old building. Both are beautiful and recommended. The Spa really is something. Immensely stylish with multiple steam rooms and saunas. The infinity plunge pool with its views of landscaped gardens and hills is just perfect. We dined in "The Grill". The restaurant team and duty manager couldn't have been more helpful and informative. Delicious food from start to finish. Breakfast was outstanding too. Great choice with local produce. 10/10 across the board.
