I've played this course before and it was a real treat. It is nestled in the woods and has a great layout. Some of the greens have more undulation that one would expect. One of the greens appears to have an elephant buried in it. I played it again this year and like many of the courses in that area,... More

I try to play here every spring and fall. The course is always in decent shape. Greens could use a little more care, but nothing that affects their playability. This represents what I consider "up north golf". Each hole is cut individually through the woods so you're never watching a different fairway or green. No walking is allowed. It doesn't... More

good layout by Doak, conditioning poor, fairways 10% bald, traps, no sand only dirt and rocks, greens horrible. need to close down course next growing season for restoration, or open a goat ranch. no other rated courses in the same condition.

They maybe trying but not lately. The whole course was lacking any water. The excuse of it hasn't rained in a while is just that. We play another course in area that was actually green and well maintained unlike wilderness valley which was more like desert valley. A few years ago this was a nice place to play. Save your... You can easily tell this place used to be an incredible course, but it's one of the most poorly maintained courses I've ever been to. The greens were particularly awful, but the fairways, sand traps, even the clubhouse are falling apart. I wish I got to play this course back when it was nice, but now it's not worth the... More

This was the third year our group played here. In 2014 and in 2015 the course was in pretty good shape and was a joy to play. As of mid June, 2016 when we last played here, the condition has deteriorated to the point where I will never come back. To say the course was in terrible shape would be... More

Played the course from 2005 through 2008 and it was majestic a true classic in terms of layout, conditions, vistas etc. Played the course June 9, 2016 and it has become an absolute goat run. Sand traps are overgrown, greens are un-puttable (this was our first course of the long weekend, destroyed putting touch for two days following). They had... More

Neglect, neglect, beautiful piece of property. Would be a good place for a golf course. We had a 2 round package and skipped the second round because of the terrible conditions. No point is asking for a rain check as we will never be back. Owners need to realize that word of mouth advertising is everything. We will warn every... More

I have to wonder about the review posted in September 2015. Our group just played the weekend before Memorial day. The course is in terrible, terrible disrepair - I mean horrible. The definition of a pasture. It is truly a shame as it is a great layout that was once one of Michigan's jewels. The course needs a tremendous cash... More

Absolutely gorgeous! The course had a hard winter and needed a little love in the spring. We re-visited in September and I am happy to say it is back to the beautiful course I remembered. An absolute must if you are golfing in Northern Michigan!!
