The golf was great and the staff were very accommodating about changes to the package. We stayed in a cottage at the Loon and it was ideal for 4 golfers. The breakfast buffet was fine and the variety for the evening meal was great.
I liked the 3 courses, but the Ridge was my favourite. Tight with many elevation changes, and the greens were true. We paid $375 for 3 nights, 3 rounds, and Breakfast/Dinner Sunday-Wednesday. Happy with the deal and will go back. We are usually at TreeTops but this is as good for me.

We played the Ridge and Loon courses on our recent golf trip and would not recommend this resort. The staff at The Ridge was friendly and the layout is solid, but the course was in poor condition. There were no range balls (9am) and the tee boxes and rough were overgrown and there was trash scattered throughout the course. The Loon was in better condition, but still below average for the Gaylord area especially the tee boxes. Our experience at The Loon would have been satisfactory, however our day was ruined by an extremely unprofessional golf pro. I would recommend spending your time/money elsewhere.

This was our 7th year at The Loon for an annual golf outing with 16 guys. We stayed in the Bergen Lodge, which is a great facility for a group of our size. The Lodge has hotel style rooms with a large common area for socializing. The courses were in great shape. The staffs at all three courses were friendly, courteous, respectful, and helpful. Their group package includes three rounds of golf, two nights accomodations, and 4 meals (2 breakfasts and 2 dinners). We will be returning next year.

We played golf at the Loon. We booked back in March a round for 4 people. When we arrived they had no record of it. They were accommodating and “fit us in” to play. They charge far too much -ala carte $95 on a Sunday at noon and 5 bucks for about 15 range balls. The course itself is just “meh” with about 2 memorable holes (2 and 3) and the rest are typical holes you find anywhere. Other things of note: the ranger wore jeans and when asked for help was not very helpful. They did seem to be very helpful to the people who stay and play. There are many many better options for courses in Gaylord.

Great staff and deal. We couldn’t play 2021 and we asked if we could roll the offer to spring. We did, for same price and it was great. Greens were a little slow like Grand Rapids was a month ago, but we’ll within parameters this far north in spring time. We had no issues using vouchers from last year, same price. Gaylord has a couple great restaurants. If you want to have an upscale dinner, I recommend Bennethums.

I bought 2 vouchers for $89 dollars each to get 2 rounds of golf and a nights stay at their resort. They expire on 10-15-18. Great deal right? I called them 9-17-18 to make a reservation and they tell me they are sold out for the rest of the year!! That is every room for 6 days a week and 4 weeks are sold out. They offered me to use this $89 dollars per voucher toward the same package next year at their regular price of 229 per voucher. That's 140 more per golfer to get the same thing. They definitely oversold this offer or didn't have nearly enough rooms to accommodate the number of people they sold this package to. I ask what's to stop them from only having 5 rooms available for this offer and then tell everyone they are sold out and tell them they can get the package for 140 more than they already paid. I have been going to the Evergreen Resort for years on a similar package and I have never had this problem before. I even was down to a week before expiration and they always accommodated me. I am writing this complaint here because I usually check comments here before travel anywhere on vacation, I hope someone reads this and uses the appropriate caution before buying a GroupGolfer package here again.

Played this course 20 years ago when it was considered a nice resort course.

Service was fine, courteous starter and pro shop attendant. Just like last time.

But that was then, this is now. Fairways were not maintained very well and the rough had not been mowed for what looked like over a week. Worse yet, there were dandelions and weeds growing abundantly in the rough every single hole (my fault for not playing in the fairway).

Overall, the course has a nice layout and is appropriately challenging, but did not come close to resembling a resort that places a high priority on maintaining their golf course.

Every one of our players said they would not return.

We have golfed the Loon several times and were happy to purchase a promotional package for One Nights Lodging and 36 holes with Cart and Range Balls through GroupGolfer. That is, we were happy until we tried to book a stay with them this past September, only to be told that all of their rooms were booked up for the rest of the season. The only option we had was to use the value of the package towards green fees in 2019 or to pay an additional $140.00 each to cover the regular price of the package. Because we were driving back to our home in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario via I75, we decided to stop in at the resort to see if they would change their minds. No Luck here, even though the parking lots were almost empty and we only seen 2 groups on the golf course, they would not honour our purchase. Needless to say, we are not happy with this situation and will not be booking with them any time in the foreseeable future.

This year we decided on trying a new resort for our outing. We've played Boyne, Treetops and Garland over the last five years. We decided to give The Loon Resort a try because of the reviews and the price for a 4 night Stay n Play with breakfast and dinner. We were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, efficient and accommodating. The townhouse, the food and courses were better then with expected. We played The Loon, The Lakes, The Ridge and Michaywe Pines. It's hard to pick a favourite. Certainly returning next year.
