We came here for Sunday dinner and we’re welcomed by the very friendly owners right away. Food was served quickly and portion sizes were pretty big! The food was nothing short of delicious and the chef even made sure we had everything we needed. 100% recommend visiting! The atmosphere is cosy and prices are pretty good too! Will definitely return!

Stopped off at The Fighting Cocks for a meal with our two children. The food was excellent, plentiful and reasonably priced, washed down with good beer. The burgers in particular are highly recommended. The pub has an effective one-way system in place due to COVID and has taken all the relevant precautions, even having anti bac spray in the ladies. Worth the detour through the country lanes!

We have just been for dinner with two friends to celebrate their “Special” Birthdays.
We had a very warm welcome from Darren, the Landlord.
The food was delicious, (I can recommend the Lamb Shank) we had excellent service from Tom, who was waiting on.
All in all, a great experience at a very reasonable price.
We will be back soon.

We visited for Sunday lunch and found a welcoming and cosy country pub with great food and excellent staff. We had delicious roast lamb with a lovely variety of tasty, well cooked vegetables. Very generous portions! The landlord and chef went out their way to accommodate a very last minute (& grateful!) member of our party who arrived after we had finished eating. Excellent quality food at a very good price in a lovely country pub location. Highly recommended!

We visited The Fighting Cocks for a midweek break from cooking as a last minute choice. Weeks of selecting/planning would not have left to any better result. Starters of leek & potato soup and tomato, mozzarella and basil salad were served very promptly and tasted delicious. For mains we both plumped for liver, bacon and onions which on a somewhat Autumnal feeling August evening hit the spot perfectly. Neither too under or over cooked it was well enjoyed together with an excellent glass of house Sauvignon Blanc. The pub is undergoing timely refurbishment and offers a very pleasant ambiance. Mark the owner was very hospitable and we would highly recommend you visit to experience great food, service and surroundings. We certainly look forward to returning again soon.

A nice friendly one to visit. Always a buzz in there. New owners now I believe who I found to be very welcoming and professional in what they do. Food is served here too, though i have not eaten here, the food looked good and plentiful on the plates being served to customers in the restaurant area. Overall a nice quirky bar with friendly staff and service.

First thing to mention was the price, £55 per head, extremely keenly priced and excellent value for money (most places were quoting £75 per head).
Secondly customer service, second to none, and nothing too much trouble. A couple of our party had allergies to gluten & lactose and they were given a wide choice of options in the menu. Breta was understanding and sensitive to people's dietary requirements throughout, not like other establishments where they make the right noises, but don't really follow things through.
The whole atmosphere in the pub was friendly and relaxed, and had a homely feel, just what everyone wanted on Christmas afternoon.
The food itself was excellent, well cooked and plentiful. The table service was also of a high standard and the staff worked really hard, without them being too intrusive.
We had such a lovely time from start to finish and feel that it is important to let the owners and staff, as well as the general public know what an excellent combination of competitively priced, well cooked food and service is provided at this establishment. Keep up the good work all, it's a winning formula!!

Four of us enjoyed a superb New Years Day lunch at this excellent village pub. Great homemade food made with local produce and all at a reasonable price.
