Excellent meal, reasonably priced.
Jul 2020 • Family
Stopped off at The Fighting Cocks for a meal with our two children. The food was excellent, plentiful and reasonably priced, washed down with good beer. The burgers in particular are highly recommended. The pub has an effective one-way system in place due to COVID and has taken all the relevant precautions, even having anti bac spray in the ladies. Worth the detour through the country lanes!

Best Christmas lunch out we've had!!
Dec 2018 • Friends
First thing to mention was the price, £55 per head, extremely keenly priced and excellent value for money (most places were quoting £75 per head).

Secondly customer service, second to none, and nothing too much trouble. A couple of our party had allergies to gluten & lactose and they were given a wide choice of options in the menu. Breta was understanding and sensitive to people's dietary requirements throughout, not like other establishments where they make the right noises, but don't really follow things through.

The whole atmosphere in the pub was friendly and relaxed, and had a homely feel, just what everyone wanted on Christmas afternoon.

The food itself was excellent, well cooked and plentiful. The table service was also of a high standard and the staff worked really hard, without them being too intrusive.

We had such a lovely time from start to finish and feel that it is important to let the owners and staff, as well as the general public know what an excellent combination of competitively priced, well cooked food and service is provided at this establishment. Keep up the good work all, it's a winning formula!!

Loved it
Jul 2018 • Couples
Recently bought a caravan in cleobury so was new to the area and was looking for a friendly country pub that also sold local ales. Google bought up The Fighting Cocks, Stottesdon so thought we would give it a try, a couple of pints and a light lunch. Fell in love with the place as soon as we walked in had a nice ale and a nice cider and tried a light lunch so I thought, burger and chips wow best home cooked chips I have ever had from a pub 2 big local burgers in a bun with salad and thick cut bacon and cheese topped off with 2 big home made onion rings all accompanied with a side salad, homemade coleslaw and a pot of salsa not the light lunch I was looking for but ate it all (rude not to) I would love it to be my local but it’s 5mile away from my caravan but I will definitely be popping in at least 2/3 times a month. I highly recommend The Fighting Cocks if your in the area we LOVED it

Absolutely Superb

We have recently moved to Chorley and were hoping to find a nice pub close by.
The Fighting Cocks is just a couple of miles away!
We were made to feel welcome immediately by Mark the owner which was lovely because we were new to the area!
The food is absolutely excellent, better than most restaurants! My husband loves the fillet steak and I have tried several main courses including steak and ale pie, gammon and hake in prawn sauce, all delicious!!
We are now regulars and have taken family there for Sunday lunch and they said it was the best they had ever had!!!
The pub has a lovely atmosphere and also provides entertainment some weekends!
The owners dog Buddy also gives everyone a warm welcome!
How lucky we are to have the best pub right on our doorstep!!!

Fantastic food and the Friendlist Service!
Oct 2017 • Couples
My parents and I stayed in a cottage 2 miles from Stottesdon and having visited The Fighting Cocks on a holiday 3/ 4 years ago decided to go back as we remembered their puddings!! We wanted to have Sunday lunch so popped in to book a table the day before- I was greeted by the lovely landlady who swiftly booked us in. Our meal was fantastic- wonderful food, huge servings and delightful service from an incredibly friendly staff. We were so impressed we decided to return on the Wednesday evening to sample the famous pies!! Once again, the food was delicious and the service second to none. We, and our dog, were made to feel incredibly welcome by the staff and the locals. I highly, highly recommend this pub and will certainly return next time I am on holiday! Thank you everyone at The Fighting Cocks.

Hidden gem
Aug 2017 • Couples
We visited The Fighting Cocks for a midweek break from cooking as a last minute choice. Weeks of selecting/planning would not have left to any better result. Starters of leek & potato soup and tomato, mozzarella and basil salad were served very promptly and tasted delicious. For mains we both plumped for liver, bacon and onions which on a somewhat Autumnal feeling August evening hit the spot perfectly. Neither too under or over cooked it was well enjoyed together with an excellent glass of house Sauvignon Blanc. The pub is undergoing timely refurbishment and offers a very pleasant ambiance. Mark the owner was very hospitable and we would highly recommend you visit to experience great food, service and surroundings. We certainly look forward to returning again soon.

A nice friendly one to visit. Always a buzz in there. New owners now I believe who I found to be very welcoming and professional in what they do. Food is served here too, though i have not eaten here, the food looked good and plentiful on the plates being served to customers in the restaurant area. Overall a nice quirky bar with friendly staff and service.
