We love staying at Harbor Lights Resort which is across the street from Frankfort beach. There are swing sets a permanent bathroom in the parking lot. It’s a nice walk down the pier but it is farther than it looks. They have a light system in front of the pier to let you know if it’s safe (red, amber, green) the lake bottom is sandy. It is located at the end of Main street. Parking is limited and NO motorhomes or trailers allowed. There are also permanent benches and a couple bench swings by the water. Fishing off the pier. Come and enjoy.

We visited last week on a Friday and the beach is very large but also very crowded. Due to Covid we hung in the back but the views were awesome. Walking back thru the residential areas to the downtown area was fun. So much to see and do!

A very nice beach that feels like it's the heart of Frankfort. The views are spectacular , especially when storming or 🌇. The sand is pristine and one of my favorite things is the plethora of benches. Normally your lucky for 4 or 5. It feels like there's 80+ here. Watching the large waves crash into the pier creating giant splashes is an awesome sight. The lighthouse at the end of the pier is very nice, nothing spectacular, but a classic none the less. There always seems to be people surfing and sailboarding. Plus people playing with kites.
Overall an easy 5 star review! Would I return? You betcha!

The beach is lovely, but please be aware that the pier can be dangerous. It's a fun place for people to jump off of, so many people go out there. My daughter stepped back into damaged concrete to let someone jump and lacerated and broke her pinky toe. I called city hall to simply notify them that injuries were happening, and the woman who answered the phone was very defensive and never once expressed her regrets regarding the injury. Apparently plans are in place to make repairs when funds are available, but you go out there "at your own risk."

Of course Lake Michigan is beautiful. The lighthouses are neat to look at. However, the beach was gross in areas. It has been a long time since I have visited here. I figured since we were after Labor Day, the beach would be cleaned up. Alas-not true. I don’t know how often they clean but parts of the beach were very gross. 2 large dead fish in one area with a dead rat! Definitely a turnoff.
There was quite a bit of plastic garbage.
I love the Great Lakes and it is distressing to see our beaches as trash cans.
Maybe I caught the area on an off day but I don’t plan on returning here any time soon.

It's a clean, fun, sandy, shallow Lake Michigan beach. The views are incredible (especially at sunset). There are benches to sit and swings for the kids. It's an easy walk out on the breakwater to the lighthouse. The lighthouse is both a scenic backdrop to the beach and a functional protection from any rough water on Lake Michigan.

This is a great public beach with swings, restrooms and you can walk the pier out to the lighthouse. The beach itself is very clean and well kept. When walking out for a swim the bottom is sandy and not many stones. The only disappointment were the dogs at the beach. I love dogs just like everyone but the occasional dog fights and droppings were a negative.
Parking can be limited in the public lot but there is street parking. When the beach is busy the parking spaces are limited on the streets as well.

We have been visiting this beach ever since my son was younger. It’s a clean beach with plenty of benches. It’s close to downtown Frankfort so if you can find parking in Main Street, it’s a shirt walk to the beach.

Frankfort Beach is Beautiful! Clean! A lot of space! Seriously Fantastic! Excellent view of Lake Michigan and the Frankfort Lighthouse! The water was amazingly clear, but a bit on the cool side for me. Still, refreshing! It is nice that this beach is so close to downtown Frankfort. Time spent here was time well spent!

All I can say is Wow! They have really upgraded this great beach since I was a kid. Sand volleyball courts, boardwalks, swing sets, and a bath house are all great amenities. The views are so great here and the water is shallow for quite a ways out making it a great beach for kids. Very clean sand.

Are ORVs allowed on Frankfort Michigan streets

I do not believe so. If I recall this summer many streets close to the beach had signs prohibiting RV parking.

Hello! Is there a ramp for rented boats, a public beach and a place for dogs to swim? Thanks!
