I have been on these boat tours 4 times now and I plan to keep going back! It is such a fun and relaxing experience, the boat sits up to 9 people comfortably and the ride has always been calm. The staff are always so kind and knowledgeable about both the surroundings as well as the chocolate and wine. I highly recommend checking this out, for $25 you get plenty of wine on the boat as well as more wine off of the boat. The bottles of wine inside are fairly priced and always a take-home for me! Each time it's been a fun get together for myself and girl friends to get away and do what we do best - drink wine!

We were going to Frankenmuth and I was looking for fun things to do so I found a Wine and Chocolate Boat ride, it was $25 per person for 5 wine tastings paired with chocolates, then a full glass of wine on the boat then when you got off you got 2 more tastings and 2 wine glasses to take home. It’s an hour tour down the Cass River, we had a captain and our wine pourer both of which were college kids, both were very nice and we enjoyed our trip because it was just us and another couple so we had all the attention.
About 3/4 of the way thru the tour it started to downpour so we all jumped up and closed the boat panels so we didn’t get drenched, we did it fairly quickly and it was all good seats stayed dry. The captain told us about points of interest as we went by and we also seen families of ducks and a lot of river turtles sitting up on logs so that was cool.
The chocolates are made in house and they were very good although I’m not a dark chocolate fan, and you are also able to buy bottles of wine after tour relatively priced. It was a fun couple hours and you get on the boat right in town so you don’t have to travel anywhere.

We visited town on a horribly hot day, so a little cruise on a breezy, beautiful river seemed just the right thing to do. I had reserved in advance (very easy process) for seven people for wine and chocolate tasting. We were able to get a private cruise with that many people and the value was unbelievable. The electric boat is well maintained and there is no gas smell to interfere with the wine tasting. Our captain and wine steward were both capable and pleasant and we shared a few laughs. The wine was uniformly good (unusual for a single label) and the chocolate was wonderful. You get the cruise, 5 wine samples with a paired chocolate, a full glass of wine and a souvenier glass all for 25 dollars. I did buy some wine and chocolate at the end of the trip and because of the extreme temps, I had to carry my little "pet" box of chocolate with me the rest of the day to keep them from melting. A nice reminder of a pleasant trip. (try the dark chocolate raspberry).

Even with all my research before our trip, I guess I somehow missed the reviews for this tour because they are spot on: the employees don’t wear masks, the girls inside were just rude for no reason and look like they hate working. We didn’t stay inside one second more than necessary.

Outside of that: the actual boat tour that we came for was very nice. I forgot our guide’s name but he was young, newly hired, a hard worker, and we enjoyed what he had to say. Even the other workers outside were friendly and helpful when I approached to ask questions (because the girl inside asked our names but gave us no information so we had no idea what we were supposed to do), so inside was the only unpleasant part.

Chocolates were really, really good. Prices were great. Boat was cleaned between groups. Would recommend the tour to couples, families, or groups of people, as long as they don’t care about masks and social distancing.

We did the wine and chocolate tasting cruise during our cousin trip and it was amazing. Captain Jack and Maria were so much fun. The entire staff was really super friendly and it’s obviously that they love their jobs. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a smaller, more intimate experience where you feel like you are with spending a leisurely hour with good friends and not packed like sardines on a tour boat.

Our group had a wonderful time on our winetasting/river tour. Mark and Jamie were very helpful and knowledgeable about the wine and the local scenery. We had a group of 10 friends from a camping group that chose this activity in Frankenmuth. We would definitely suggest this for anyone interested and enjoying an hour tour and trying some awesome wine and chocolate. The only reason we did not rate it a five is that we did have one member of our group that we had requested sparkling juice for and it was not available on the boat. They did provide him with a soda instead but he was looking forward to having the sparkling juice while others had wine. Just maybe a double check in the future before a boat leaves ask if there is anybody on board that had chosen this option.

The trip as great. We had a perfect day for a cruise. The boat is for a small group which is more fun than a larger boat. The captain, Elliot, was engaging talking about local history along the way with some added humor. :) The wine and chocolate part of the tour was good. Highly recommend this cruise.

When looking into things to do when staying in Frankenmuth for a couple of days, the wine and chocolate tour seemed like a popular excursion to choose. We reserved in advance which was quick and painless. The trip itself is a quick hour. For the $25 you get the relaxing cruise, five wine samples and a deliciously paired chocolate for each. Then you get to select which variety you would like for your full glass of wine. At the end, after disembarking, you get a souvenir wine glass and two more samples to try. The boat is well maintained and comfortable. There were 10 passengers along with the two crew members. Even though there were a couple of quick rain showers, that didn't stop the fun from happening thanks to the boat being covered and being equipped with flaps that could be zipped up till we were out of the rain. Even though the trip seemed quick, the scenery was pleasant and the company was entertaining. The captain and first mate shared many interesting facts about Frankenmuth and its residents. The wine was good but their chocolates were even better. We left with 1/2 pound to enjoy later.

very peaceful on the river. Our boat driver was awesome. My only complaint would be 3 and under are free, so when they were passing out chocolates ( and they are not big pieces) my grandson saw everyone getting it and wanted a piece and Delaney would not give him a piece. so I gave up mine. But it was the way she said it- You didn't pay for him so he can't have any. It's not like we were sneaking him on- your policy says under 3 free- and I had paid for 8 adults and 1 youngster. He sees his sister getting chocolate how do you think he feels. So I never got to pair because he wanted my chocolate. but I still would recommend

The FunShip was a nice little river cruise and wine tasting experience. The Captain was a junior at Michigan State and she was knowledgeable of the area. The young man pouring our wines and providing our chocolate pairing was also knowledgeable of the wines. Our group really enjoyed this excursion very much and would highly recommend this. It is very well priced for everything you get. We bought some wine we sampled on our ride and also bought the chocolates we enjoyed with the wines. If you’re visiting Frankenmuth during the warmer months, I would highly recommend this trip.
