About
The Escanaba Cross Country Pathway is located within the city limits, yet feels like it is set deep in the wilderness. The peaceful cedar ridges and hardwood hills block out the hustle of the city. The trailhead is located on North 30th Street just north of Charter Communications.

We were made to feel very welcome in Escanaba! They offer a free use of bike program. We "checked" out our bikes at the municipal marina. They ask for I.D. etc. and we were on our way. We rode 5 miles out of town to a restaurant. We also enjoyed Lakeshore Drive. The path took us into a lovely park and then a beach area. We enjoyed our time using the Escanaba Bike Path!

The Bike Path in Escanaba is very nice. It goes through Ludington Park, which is a beautiful 3/4 mile long park along Lake Superior. My only complaint is that it is a bit short, but it is very nice! Perfect for a little ride and a picnic or going to the beach.

Flat and relatively short bike path is well-maintained and perfect for families just wanting to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. I am not sure where the hard-core cyclists ride, but this was a nice leisurely ride with good access and protected from traffic in most areas. The free bikes make it a no-brainer for sunny day family fun!

I am an avid bicycle commuter living in Escanaba. I ride my bike in town year round. There is no bike path (at least one that meets the states criteria for a bike path) other than the one that goes through Ludington Park. On Danforth Road the designated "bike path" is nothing more than a too narrow, debris littered strip of road shoulder with bike path signs. It is actually quite a dangerous ride. Much of the rest of the city's bike paths are simply sidewalks. This city has a long, long way to go before it could ever be considered bike friendly.

The bike path is wonderful! It goes along the lake and is used by many people for biking and walking/jogging. It is very safe and the paved trail is smooth. The park system in Escanaba is fantastic...it goes nearly the full length of the city.

I bike but rarely on Escanaba's bike path, it just doesn't amount to much compared to other towns of similar size or even smaller. Part around Arnson Island is nice & pretty but short for anyone who likes to put some mileage on. Rest of what city calls "bike path" is little more than side walk that runs next to Lincoln Road and a sidewalk running to west parallel to old state road. Esky has really missed the boat when it comes to attracting cyclers and wouldn't be considered "friendly to cycling" by any stretch. If you like to cycle Mr. Bike & Ski has a Tuesday evening ride that is very nice and accommodates about any skill level. Also, in the fall, the Chamber of Commerce puts together a very nice ride that also is for any skill & endurance level.

The bike path was wonderful. We did not bring bikes along for the 500 mile drive, but we were able to 'check out' bikes for free at the marina area in Ludington Park. Being free, they're not the fanciest, but they got us around the bike path.

The trail is over growing with weeds . It is wooden path with rotten boards. It does not go any were it ends in a swamp.

Secret find-Marina office has several cruiser-type bikes available for free use, just provide ID & sign one out, had a nice ride around adjacent waterfront park/beach area, very pretty!

We enjoyed our time, but it was not a bike ride that provided great views or fun. Other bike trails and rides around the area were better.
