This is one of the most beautiful spots in the entire state. Standing on top of Pyramid Point on a clear day offers a magnificent view. The hike up is steep but not too long. I recommend taking the complete hike if you can ,...More

Just outside of Sleeping Bear Dunes, and within the national park's jurisdiction, is this short hike. Most of the 0.6 mile walk is shaded from the parking lot to the point lookout. A longer (less than 3 miles) hike is an option if you want...More

Neat view of Manitou Islands and Lake Michigan. Short hike, shaded 200yards from parking lot. Stunning view from top of high dune. Kind of a small spot to overlook though. Got there just in time to see red faced and out of breath teen agers...More

The hike was only 0.6 miles. Got pretty steep but well worth it. A beautiful view of Lake Michigan and the 2 islands off the sand dunes. MUST GO.

The hike through the woods was ok, nothing spectacular, but the view of lake Michigan and the Manitou Islands at the end is gorgeous!

Challenging climb if you decide to venture down the dune and back up, but swimming in the water is a treat. Travel down with caution though, sometimes there are clay outcropping ledges which may be difficult to get over to go up again.

Make a quick stop here and enjoy the peaceful view of the lake. My wife and I went early and there were only a few other people around. Beautiful view! Great spot to add to the many other trails for a day.

This has become one of our family’s favorite hikes! The view at the end of the easier portion is breathtaking (keep left when you come to the Y) The most amazing view is at the end of a much more aggressive hike up a dune....More

This was a great, quick hike for our family (Kids aged 12 and 10). Wouldnt be easy with a stroller due to the steps that are built into the trail. Great view from the top though!

This was our first hike at Sleeping Bear. It takes you fairly steeply up for a bit, but it's through a nicely wooded area so at least there's shade. At the top the view is breathtaking. My school aged kids whined a bit going up...More

Not sure about dogs, but would assume, if they are on a leash would be OK. I can't imagine why they wouldn't be.

You can apply for a back country hiking permit that allows you to hike and camp off the trails in the park. You can have a campfire on Good Harbor beach which is at the north end of the park . This is a popular thing to do... More

No vehicles are allowed. For those who cannot hike, there are some beautiful overlooks on the Pierce Stocking Drive, which is near the town of Glen Arbor.
