This 2.7 mile trail, has three different areas: maple-beech forest, high bluffs, and meadow. Signs posted not to descend the bluff to Lake Michigan because the dunes is becoming more fragile, but many did not adhere. The trail includes several steep hills, some quite steep. If you decide to hike the meadow trail, make sure you have bug spray as... More

It's about a mile hike, the last half uphill, but the view is really worth the effort. A vast panorama of Lake Michigan including both Manitou Islands

A wooded mildly-challenging walk will take you up to Pyramid Point. The views alone are worth it. If bringing children, they must be closely supervised, as there are very, very steep declines right down to Lake Michigan. There is NOT a wooden platform (like the Pierce Stocking area has). I could sit up there for hours just looking out onto... More

This was a great hike and a must-do if you are in the area! Being almost 8 months pregnant I was a little hesitant, but I was still able to do it with only a couple small breaks. I would definitely recommend bringing water with you as there is an incline on the way up. The views at the top... More

We loved the beauty of the dunes and the crystal clear water below. The scenery was breathtaking from above. The hike up is a dirt path with plenty of stairs. On a hot day I recommend plenty of water on hand. A must see when in the area.

This was a fantastic hike, the first 1/2 mile is basic trail with incline. But once you get to that point you can take the trail off to the right and go part of the way down the bluff and hike across the points of the bluffs. It was a great hike with 3 teenage boys. They loved it!

The hike from the car lot to the view point is quite simple. The path is a nice walk and is worth it once you get to the lookout. You have the option to climb down the sand to the water. It's pretty neat, but is tiring making your way back up in the slippery sand. I would still recommend... More

One of the most beautiful area lookouts over Lake Michigan. Accessible for most people, it's a lovely hike through a birch forest and then an amazing overlook of the Manitou island and an active Lake Michigan shipping channel.

The hike will have you stop to catch your breath at the top, but you'll be rewarded by the incredible view. Don't miss and take your camera.
