We arrived at Sleeping Bear Dunes just as the rain arrived. So, we took a quick walk through the dunes before they heavy stuff moved in. The scenic drive gave us an option for continuing our visit and still seeing some sights. We could hop out of the car and check out a stop on the tour and then hop... More

We found this drive through the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore very scenic and beautiful. We stopped at many of the lookout areas and went on several hikes.

My husband and I visited on October 4th and the highlight of the drive were stops # 9 and #10, which are actually on the same pullout. Be aware that after enjoying your time at the viewing platform at #9, take the short hike up the sand hill to #10, where there is another viewing platform looking out onto the... More

I hadn't originally anticipated to do this stretch, but one of the park rangers highly recommended it, and I'm glad I listened. This drive is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. I arrived just as it was openning for the day so there were very few people. Perfect for fall to see the color tour. There are pull-outs throughout the drive so... More

Love the beautiful fall colors on this drive. Many scenic overlooks, hiking,a chance to walk on the dunes to look at Lake Michigan and the Dune Climb. A highlight of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is a great activity for both adults and children. The drive itself is beautiful and the rangers provide a map of places to stop along the way. The drive itself is tree-lined and includes a covered bridge. There are great stopping points along the way including sand dunes, lake views, etc. I was a little disappointed... More

We really enjoyed this loop of amazing views. So pretty, especially in the fall. National park admittance fee needed, but we had a national park pass. The one stop at the dunes was a bit wild since it was windy! It was hard to see, but would have been beautiful had it not been for the flying sand. Well worth... More

We take this drive every time we are in the Glen Arbor area. There are great views of Glen Lake and the sand dunes while driving through beautiful woodlands. So many people miss this scenic drive thinking the dune climb a mile down the road is the only way to see the dunes. There is a viewing platform where the... More

I never knew this place existed and a friend took me here recently. The energy in this place is amazing. We walked to the top of the look out and the view is stunning. It can be very windy, so dress accordingly. Take a camera because you will get some great keepsakes.

My husband has a heart condition, so this was the perfect thing for him, several overlooks with spectacular views, not too much walking, and a beautiful wooded drive in one of Michigan's natural beauty sites.
