This is a must see if you are in the upper peninsula. the hike alone is worth the trip. Add to it the beauty of the ice caves it is well worth the trip. Make sure you use some form of strap on ice cleats.

Medium to medium hard hike. Take a staff or spikes on your shoes as there is plenty of slippery slopes to navigate. Worth the effort.

It was difficult to find as it was in winter and we couldn't really find the path. We couldnt find where to park the car at the "farm". The walk from the car park to entrance of the park was also difficult to find. And...More

My mother and I visited the Eben Ice Caves on February 17th, 2018. Well worth the drive from Ontario. We arrived pretty early in the day and there was no room left in the parking area at the trailhead so we parked on the street....More

This is free. Careful on the parking. Best with a 4x4. Bit of walk into the bush and then follow the path. Very slippery. We wore snow pants and good winter boots. Some people also had spikes that they put over their boots.

I would recommend looking online for complete information on the Eban Ice Caves it has lots of useful information. Definitely wear "Cleats"!! You don't need snowshoes. Boots that are waterproof would help, especially in the late winter when there might be a melt off. Be...More

My husband & I went on a gorgeous day, sunny and almost 40 degrees. The walk, even though it was longer than we thought it would be, was beautiful through the woods. As mentioned in other reviews, you really should have ice cleats as there...More

This is really a cool place to head to. A couple of notes: we didn't have special footwear; we were in boots and running shoes. It would be nice to have ice cleats, but our snowshoe pole I think was just perfect. You pretty much...More

Biggest recommendation: ICE CLEATS. If not those, at least trekking poles. It’s about 3/4 mile from parking to the cave, the last part is very challenging as the snow gets packed down and becomes slick, and it’s a bit hilly. There is an uphill climb...More

The caves are beautiful!! Be sure to take your ice cleats!! Trekking poles are helpful as well for the hike back to the caves.

I brought my dog and a small plastic sled with a 6YO in it. The trail is well traveled and snow becomes slick and matted. Half the people that were there had ice cleats, and the other half wished they had them.
