My son and his band are regulars at Baker's Keyboard Lounge. This property is intimate, but roomy enough so that every seat is a good seat for viewing the stage. The soul food menu here is great and the portions adequate for the price. There is a small parking lot next door, which could use paving. I visit often on... More

Cool jazz club opened in 1934, my friend and I stopped by on Thursday, May 5, 2016 for dinner and a jazz set. Fried chicken, collard greens, a corn muffin and baked potato were adequate fare all washed down with a couple of Labatt Blue's. The music was good, the vibe friendly, it all added up to a fun night... More

What a fun place to spend an evening! Really friendly nice people They have two seatings an eight 8:30 PM and a 10-10:15 seating with a $10 cover charge. I would make reservations if you want to go because they get booked, it only seats 101 persons and Baker's has been playing jazz for 83 years. I plan to return... More

Visiting friend from Germany gave us a chance for first visit to Baker's. After a lifetime in Detroit, have been missing one of the best jazz places anywhere. And that's just the music. Intimate club setting, excellent acoustics and the food is phenomenal. Plan to get dinner! Finish with a "Baker's surprise" for dessert...peach cobbler. We will go again for... More

My boyfriend took me here on a Friday night. Line was out the door and the host couldn't let anymore in because they had reached the fire marshall's limit. We waited it out and boy was it worth it. Funnest, nicest people I have ever been around. Staff was fast and friendly. Incredible fried catfish, black eyed peas, and collards.... More

This venerable Detroit jazz spot never disappoints. It was very crowded...we went on a Saturday night...but the greeter got us in as promised. There are two sets and people leave after the second one and we got right in. We drank only...but the food around us looked and smelled delicious. They have a parking lot just to the south of... It was incredible to see so much history, culture, passion and positive energy in one place. Truly a memorable evening and an amazing experience. p.s. The food was phenomenal! Best... More

A must see and experience jazz club. Baker's Keyboard Lounge is the oldest jazz club in the world. Food was delicious. Karaoke was fun. Jazz trio was top notch. I will visit again.

It's all that. 80 years of history decorates the walls with some of the best singers in the world crossing the threshold. We started with an early dinner of delicious food cooked with true Detroit Soul. Ribs, corn bread, mashed yams and Jack Daniels with Coke back... then settled in for the first of three sets with Alan Barnes and... More

As a Brit travelling from Australia to the US for a conference, i had to book a stopover in Detroit to visit the oldest Jazz bar in the States and I was not disappointed. Travelling in a group of girls all under 26 years of age, we turned up at the door on a saturday evening (8pm) only to find... More
