This is Detroit music history right here - so many greats have played at Baker's! The soul food is good, the service is fine, the parking is secure - don't let the area deter you - I've been lots & it's fine. But do go for the live music - it's awesome! We always go early & get a nice... More

The location was a little scary with all the torn down buildings and tall fenced lots around. It is not very easy to find the place or a parking spot and don't have very high expectations of the place. Slow service, food is very average and drinks not very good but music is good. So eat, drink and go for... More

The music was wonderful! The food was good, although we waited an hour for it. The waitress said that is typical wait time on the weekend. The drinks however must have been made from the cheapest liquor on the face of the earth. My guests and I came to the conclusion that it must have been homemade moonshine. We had... More

really, i wouldn't likely be a regular; but a visit to the oldest continually running jazz club in the world is just something anyone who likes jazz needs to do. we had overly sweet/syrupy drinks that were ridiculously priced, but that was all part of the experience too!

Music was great, food was mediocre. Very disappointed in the way this place was run. When we called in reservations, they say there was a $10 cover, when we got there, they said it was $15. Tables were too small. Five in our party and we almost were stacking plates on top of each others to eat. Won't be back.

My 2 adult sons surprised me with a trip to Detroit specifically to take in the Jazz clubs and Hitsville USA. We reserved a table at Baker's the night they were having a live local Latin Jazz band not knowing anything about them We sat right next to the piano player and he was very friendly and gave us a... I love this place. A bit small but the food is deliciously prepared and the live entertainment is JAZZ. OMG, the MAC & CHEESE, COLLARD GREENS, YAMS and FISH was delicious. REAL FRESH SOUL FOOD.

Husband took me here for my birthday. We are from Ohio and this place was wonderful. Intimate and cozy with great view of the band. The service was on point. Food was hot and delicious and there was plenty of it. The only down side was the door-man--not inviting or welcoming at all--actually pretty cocky. I'm sooooo glad we didn't... More

My son and his band are regulars at Baker's Keyboard Lounge. This property is intimate, but roomy enough so that every seat is a good seat for viewing the stage. The soul food menu here is great and the portions adequate for the price. There is a small parking lot next door, which could use paving. I visit often on... More

Cool jazz club opened in 1934, my friend and I stopped by on Thursday, May 5, 2016 for dinner and a jazz set. Fried chicken, collard greens, a corn muffin and baked potato were adequate fare all washed down with a couple of Labatt Blue's. The music was good, the vibe friendly, it all added up to a fun night... More
