More than a way to get from here to there, Woodward Avenue is the life blood of S.E. Michigan . . . from downtown at the river's edge all the way out to Pontiac and beyond -- this road shows you how the mid-west began.

There are a lot of options for shopping and food all within walking distance of each other. The sidewalks are wide and well lit.

A few lanes are blocked off while they are adding tracks for a trolley. Traffic is not to bad though. It is always fun to take a drive down Woodward to see the old downtown buildings.

The revitalization of downtown Detroit is near and dear to my heart. The cruise showcases older cars and souped up auto alike.

I cruised Woodward as a teen back in the 70's, and even though cruisers are only allowed during the Woodward Dream Cruise in August, it still brings back welcome memories every time I drive down it. Wonderful and unique restaurants and shopping all the way...More
