I was so excited to find a book I had been seeking for years. I felt as if I was in an ancient Library. Everything is priced reasonable. Love this place!

I had the opportunity to get a tour of the store - and what you don't always see in this photos posted is the 2nd building - that houses, not just old books, but truly antique, specialty, ephemera and objects - that are all for...More

Quite a bookstore, with those 4 floors of used books and other treasures. I loved just walking around and taking photos of the many signs placed everywhere to help you find what you are looking for. Bring a flashlight, since many of the stacks are...More

4 stories of hidden treasures! We were given a map upon arrival. The sections and rows were well organized. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Be sure to give yourself enough time to browse this charming (yet very large) bookstore.

I love John King Books and the W Lafayette location is the better of the two though the Ferndale location is also nice. Here you should be able to find what you're looking for and multiple copies of it. If you can't find it here,...More

If you love books this is where you need to stop. Huge building with four floors. My only complaint is that it doesn't feel super organized. While they provide a map, the individual shelves seem to lack some rhyme or reason.

Traveling with my family took a lot of the fun out of it, because I always had someone following me around and looking over my shoulder. This place is floors and floors of books. Simply nirvana for people like me. And I thought they were...More

First off, I have to talk about the building, because if you are expecting a Barnes & Noble, you will be surprised. The four-story brick building was once home to a glove manufacturer and has a unique character of its own with creaky wooden floors...More

Whether you like books or not, it's worth the experience. Four floors of books, many rare and old. The building itself is a bit scary looking but don't let that deter you. It's fun to just walk around and browse. The staff is amazing and...More

This isn't for everyone but if you are interested in used books (all varieties) and don't mind clutter, dust and mold this is a honey hole. Four levels of old (and older) books. Nothing is indexed but placed in 'subject areas.' They say this is...More
