Nice to walkaround and see buildings. Go to the edge and check out the river and People Mover. No great for children due to walking and only seeing buildings.

Not at all what I expected. Fantastic buildings to see and many undergoing restoration. Downtown is very much alive. Plenty of great places to eat. Buy lunch and sit in a park and enjoy some music when live music is presented. This city is coming back, big time. We will be back.

Downtown Detroit is a great place to explore with reminders of its greatness found in many of the fine old buildnigs still standing. The People Mover, a couple car train on elevated tracks, provides a great way to both see and get around.

Visited for sports event: the people are very friendly. We did not feel unsafe despite what news/media events report. The city is very nice in some areas, others not so much. Walked from campus Martius to Hart Plaza at dusk with no problems. There are some very beautiful buildings amazing architecture and some very outstanding Detroiters.

Detroit has come a long way since when I grew up 40 minutes outside the city. It used to be gross and dangerous but now it's got the luster back! There is group workouts, bike rides around the city and amazing places to eat and drink. It reminds me of NYC but with gambling, better prices and less people.

When you hear the words Detroit Downtown, it definitely sounds like a great place to have something awful and muderish happen to you. Despite its reputation the downtown is making a comeback and it feels pretty safe though I wouldnt wander aimlessly and would take some precautions. However, regular people go downtown and enjoy it and so should you. Walking... More

We regularly go into downtown to see venues or just to relax on the Riverfront. The downtown area is good to see all year round.

I, like most others I suspect am rooting for a Detroit recovery. However, it just isn't anywhere near that yet. We got to our hotel in downtown on a Saturday in the Summer at 7:00 P.M. Should be primetime with a lot of people out and about going to restaurants and activities and the streets were bare. I mean there... More

I must say every time I drive in to Detroit I'm afraid of going on the wrong roads. I'm somehow blown away of the town when you stand and look at the buildings rising high above you. When there is a game going on at comerica park and there are loads of people strolling on the streets. It's just weird... More

There are pockets of rejuvenation in this city and downtown that was on the brink of disaster. It is coming back to life but slowly. Keep it up.
