I love this gorgeous shop even though for the moment I am not ready for a fancy new bike. This place is beautiful, overflowing with exciting gifts and works of “art”. When I first discovered it Shinola was in the vanguard of Detroit’s renaissance and it was really thrilling to join in! Go see what sort of things they are making and promoting!

Quality Manufacturing is at the heart of Detroit's comeback. Obama came here as Shinola epitomizes the quality in the rebirth of Detroit's Manufacturing comeback. Great place to build your own watch made from quality American parts. Buy a Bike, Have an expresso, check out their leather goods. It's a great store.

But Shinola is only part of the experience. Built at he beginning of last the century the Cass Corridor is experiencing a rebirth. Next door to Shinola is Filson's outdoor goods store. So is Jack Whites' Third Man Records, which is really worth checking out if you like music, especially Vinyl Records.

This is a great part of Detroit to come for lunch or happy hour and check out some of the unique boutiques that is making Detroit great again.

I love the Shinola store. They make great stuff at high quality and it’s made in America. I wish they would make a typewriter. Maybe they’ll get around to it. Great staff. Very friendly.

It's an interesting concept that everything is a local product but branding so many odd things with one name dilutes the idea.

Also aside from some bicycle designs everything else is generic not unique designs.

Lots of clunky watches and everything at bloated prices. Are the leather goods retro design or just old fashion?

Everything is in the eye of the beholder.

More staff than customers makes it an uncomfortable shopping experience.

IF you know and love anything Shinola, you will want to visit this store..it is truly amazing. From the bikes to the leather products, OF COURSE, not to miss the watches where it all started...this store is like candy land. There is so much to see and look at that you won't believe it. The store itself is beautifully done but parking is a problem in this area. SO go early and enjoy everything that wonderful Shinola has to offer. You will NOT be disappointed.

A must stop in Detroit, or a destination. You can tour the facility assembling the watches, and visit the retail outlet, where you will be treated like royalty. Water served in blue bottles, no pressure to buy, just a staff welcoming you. A variety of products from watches to bicycles.

We were in Detroit for the weekend and headed to Shinola to check out the flagship store.

Definitely a cool vibe--a small coffee shop and a beautiful showcase for Shinola's hand-made products. The store had a ton of people working, and all were very professional and happy to help.

Nice selection of products, with major emphasis on watches (including a design-your-own station), bicycles, and headphones. The products are all expensive--we laughed at the extension cords that were over $100--but the story behind the products is good, they are beautiful, and there's a sense of pride in the craftsmanship. I appreciated that the staff seemed to view the store as a brand-building exercise: while they were anxious to help, they seemed not to mind at truly browsing the merchandise, and at no point did they apply lots of sales pressure. We bought a couple of beautiful journals for work and for friends.

The neighborhood in which Shinola is located is worth your time--there are some other cool stores and a couple of nice places to grab a drink.

Worth your time while in Detroit!

Was just wandering around the new International Market Place in Waikiki when I discovered the brand new SHINOLA shop.
The place looked very nice, so I sent in and saw a range of Made in the US notebooks, which were great quality and not made in China like the Mole###e brand.. AND better priced.
The service was excellent so I purchased one and was offered Free personalisation, which I accepted.

I went back and purchased two more, and the assistant recognised me and even knew where I was from

I know that this is Detroit site, but could not find a Waikiki one and wanted to just say how pleased I was with the range, pricing, service.

The shop is a bit niche, but DO SUPPORT them as we need quality places like this with quality products and quality service

Well done team.. 10:10

WoW , what a fantastic experience at Shinola in Detroit!
A great space that embodies the company's philosophy & products so beautifully handcrafted with such a strong design concept it makes it almost impossible to choose.
This is the stuff that made America great in its invention & pride in ones craft.
I especially have to thank Benjamin & Noe who were so wunderful in their service & even for their knowledge of the city & its culture.
You guys show up the big boys in cities like New York or L.A. When it comes to the very best in customer service, & should be commended for representing both the company & this city as the best examples of Detroits locals.
