One of Detroit's small theater gems, the intimate City Theatre is located in the heart of Foxtown Entertainment District inside Hockeytown Cafe, next to the fabulous Fox Theatre. This 430-seat theater has the unique atmosphere of an off-Broadway house, right in the heart of the Motor City, and hosts concerts, plays, comedy shows and more.

At the theatre today to see Mitch Albom's Hockey production. Very funny and entertaining, and this cozy venue was perfect for this play. We will look for other upcoming productions to see at this venue.

One of the smaller theatres; the experience is intimate and casual. So, definitely no Broadway plays here. We would attend again. Production of Hockey The Musical was fast paced, entertaining. All in all a good experience

The performance of Ernie was amazing bringing memories to life and a tear to the eye of even the toughest old man, or woman. There are no bad seats at the City Theatre as everyone is close to the stage. The only downside is the...More

this was an amazing. very well done. a lot of good baseball info. the actors were amazing. The parking at the Fox is 15.00 and you have to have Cash. I think that is a bit weird. Especially this day and age.

My wife and I took our elderly parents to see Ernie here. Play was awesome and theater is ideal. This is a true hidden gem in the city

We saw "Hockey - The Musical" and it was a MUCH better experience than I expected. The theater is very small, probably only 300 seats which makes it a very intimate experience. The show we saw was only about 1/4 full so there were lots...More

We went to see Robocop the Musical. The show was a lot of fun, but the seats were really bad. Not the location of the seats - we had a great view of the stage - but they were lumpy and uncomfortable. Definitely in need...More

Went to see a show "Women's Night Out" with fellow Detroit friends of mine. We hadn't been down in this part of the neighborhood since we were teenagers. What a pleasant surprise. Of course more still needs to be done but you definitely see the...More
