There is not one event where the staff is organized enough or compelled to honor the door times. Coupled with a total lack of communication by staff as to when lines will be admitted (and rude, short responses when you inquire), your experience is ruined before it even begins when you're standing clueless in the blistering cold. The line for Aqua's concert didn't even begin entering until 7:30 PM - 30 long minutes later in the cold than promised.

A stately venue in the heart of Detroit. Walking distance to good restaurants. The renovated interior has interesting detail (e.g., oversized knights at sides of the stage, ceiling) and lighting. The seating map is a bit hard to follow due to some lower level seating behind the bar. We had read that seats were uncomfortable and tight but we're taller and still found our first-row balcony seats to be soft and spacious.

Recently attended a concert with seats at a table top in back of mezzanine. Been to other shows here and either stood in GA on the floor or reserved seats upstairs. Don't feel, like there is a bad seat in the house

Been here a couple of times for concerts and it’s a great place to see a show. As a short person, general admission is usually horrible for me, but this venue has tiered standing areas, so I could see the stage!
It’s an old, beautiful theater that was designed well.
There’s a balcony but it doesn’t obstruct too many views because it sits back far enough. The paid seats up there aren’t bad either.
There’s a full bar on the main floor where you won’t miss the show to get a refill.
The only complaint is that bathrooms are in the basement, so it can take a while to wind out of the crowd, to the bathroom and back through the crowd.

My fiance and I had our first visit here for the Joe Rogan show and we had a great experience. From the time we were waiting in line to get in, until we were seated, staff were super friendly and helpful. One staff member asked us if we'd been there before and after finding out we didn't, made sure to take a little walk with us to make sure we knew where the bathrooms were. He then directed us to the next staff member who could help us find our seats. Everyone was so helpful, which makes for a very different experience than your typical arena event. The venue itself is gorgeous. The detail, architecture, and setup make it very welcoming and comfortable. I have been to some comedy shows where I almost couldn't wait to leave due to the cramped and uncomfortable seating, but seating was adequate and, other than the super tall guy sitting in front of me, comfortable. We liked the bar in the theater area, which allowed for quick service without missing the show. The bathroom was a little far and could use a face-lift, but similar to other venues I've been to. We really enjoyed our time there overall.

Love this venue. Those tempted by " main floor" seating, don't be. The Mezannine is the place to be. We were Mez 4, front row, lots of leg room, nobody in front of us. Careful though, we were seats 4 and 5 and they were perfect, but seats 6-8 had a bay area type of thing right in front of them that occupied most of their leg room so I will be careful to avoid those seats during any future purchases. The view and sound in the mezzanine is perfect and you have a bar and bathrooms close by.

The venue was nice, but glad we didn't have general admission folding chair seats.
Doors were to open at 7, but opened 18 minutes late-we had VIP entry-so got in quickly-but it was too cold for people to stand outside.
Usher in lobby was so busy on his cell-we had to ask twice for directions to our seating area before he looked up from his phone.
Our VIP seats were comfortable-front and center, but far away from stage-couldn't see performer's faces.
The server was wonderful-(Tatiana, I think?). She was friendly, efficient and personable. She made the VIP purchase worthwhile, making our visit wonderful.
I will say that for $800 tickets, there could have been a few decent food options. There was nothing gluten free for my daughter to eat. A few small offerings like vegetables and hummus, chips and salsa or popcorn that is gluten free would appeal to everyone. Salsa and hummus are available in single serve containers-easy to manage.
The venue is pretty, bathrooms were clean, fairly wide range of seating options. Once inside the seating area, ushers kept things moving efficiently.

The search at Fillmore is ridiculous. If you go to EDM show be prepared to have your boobs touched. This venue goes above and beyond to make you feel uncomfortable when being searched.

Attended a sold out concert here on December 6. Venue is small and general admission. This is a very pretty, historical spot. There is a large bar which makes it easy to get drinks without missing the show. There is a VIP section right in front of the bar with tables in a roped off area. VIP access requires a special wristband. This is well worth the additional price to have a table and server. Unfortunately, the usher working the VIP area was letting other people in the area at his discretion. This caused the VIP section to be very crowded and these extra people blocked the viewing area in front of the bar. When one of our friends complained about the non-wristband wearing people in the VIP area, this usher said he would call security and have our friend removed! This usher was clearly feeling high on the power of his ability to stand by the podium and call security. So if you're thinking about paying extra for VIP wristbands just be prepared that you may be crowded out by General Admission folks.

First time at the theater: we went to see Gipsy Kings.
Theater is old and some restoration is in order. That said: its renaissance renewal” architecture style (as the Detroit Society calls it!) is attractive.
The main floor has a strange layout in sections. I read the theater was originally a movie theater; perhaps that explains it.
Believe it or not: the theater has a bar on the main floor: you can actually sit and have dinner and drinks while enjoying the performance!
We sat in the Mezzanine level and loved it. The chairs in that level are the originals and interestingly are very comfortable...probably more than the smaller ones available on the main floor.
There is a small bar immediately after entering the theater, in the hallway so to speak. Service tends to be slow: only one person available.
All in all: loved it.
Recommend using the ParkWhiz app to find a parking spot before arriving to Detroit: it can get challenging to find one if there are several concurrent events, as it happened to us that night. If going to The Filmore or the Fox, look for parking at the East Elizabeth lot: it is just across the theater, crossing Woodward Avenue.

Hi, I just bought tickets at the Fillmore for Mezzanine Table (seats 4). Do you know if they have chairs or is it standing at the table only?

Can’t decide between loge, mezzanine, or floors for a concert. The loge seats are centre row DD. I’m thinking floors would be the best and most fun but they are the cheapest. We like to be up close usually but the mezzanine and Loge areas look beautiful. Any suggestions?

The floor is the closest to the stage. The other areas are away from the floor crowd, and those areas are behind the floor

Parking near by? Closest motel? Thanks
