We were looking for a general feel and information about the changing city of Detroit. Although we now live elsewhere, we have old family connections to the city dating back to the early 1900s. Out guide Pat was very knowledgeable about about the past and present of the city. We went to many different attractions and neighborhoods and learned a great deal about Detroit. In addition to a fun and informative tour, we were given a fantastic recommendation for lunch. We would highly recommend Show Me Detroit Tours to anyone visiting the city.

Hi Joan --
I had a great time touring with you and Amber. Like you, I can't believe that you ended up lunching in the very spot where a 100 year-old family business was started in 1884. What a great fun coincidence.
Best regards,
Pat

We were in Detroit for a symposium and wanted something to do away from the hotel. City tours are always a great option. We made the right decision in selecting Pat to show us Detroit, the good and the not so good. She did a great job telling us the history, showing us the architectural beauty in downtown, and emphasizing the positive trends. Detroit probably has a lot to offer if you live there and know where to go, but there is a dirty underbelly you need to understand as well. Pat covered it all very well. I can recommend this tour and your money is well spent getting information from someone who knows the area well. Great job Pat and thanks again!

Hi Steve -- Thanks for posting your nice review. Your visit, and our conversations, have peaked my interest lately in our magnificent Detroit Masonic Temple. Much to learn there.
Best regards,
Pat

The highlight of the tour for us was our guide's, "JP", extensive and detailed knowledge about Detroit's buildings, its history and its people, coupled with his good humor and love for the city. Six of us from Boston came to learn more about Detroit's resurgence. We got more than we hope for from our tour, which included visits to several downtown buildings, famous Coney Island hotdogs for lunch, and stops at other neighborhoods especially Corktown and the reincarnated Central Railroad Station.

Spent a "girl's weekend" in Detroit last weekend, and our one member who lives in Detroit scheduled this tour for us. I can't stop thinking about it. We all learned so much about the city from Pat, who is passionate about Detroit's history and resurgence. She will customize the tour, focus on things you want to see, had snack and washroom stops built in along the way if wanted / needed. We never felt "on the clock" - our own stop time was dictated more by a dinner reservation than her meter ticking (not to say she'll go for hours beyond what you book for; just that she seemed flexible and willing to stray beyond our scheduled time a bit if there was something important for us to see). I would do this again in a minute! You won't be disappointed!

This was a perfect way to kick off our short visit to Detroit. Pat is so fun, interesting, and knowledgeable. My 83 year old parents were leery of exploring Detroit on their own since they hadn't been in years so I arranged this tour for the 4 of us. Pat took us to places we would have never seen and gave us so much history and information that really made us appreciate this beautiful city.
I highly recommend taking this tour at the start of your trip.
Thanks to Pat we will definitely be back again!

Hi Kerry --
I appreciate your very kind review. You warned me in advance that the guys were goofy -- and that's what made it so fun for me. We all had a lot of laughs as we checked out Detroit. Thanks so much!

This experience was fabulous. After speaking with one of us, Pat put together a tour that mirrored the locations, history and areas of interest that we had noted. She is extremely knowledgeable and her enthusiasm and love of "her city" is evident throughout the tour. I would recommend her tours to anyone who is either visiting the city or is local and wants to learn more about Detroit.

We had a fantastic time with Pat and she showed us so many attractations in Detroit. Further to that, Pat’s commentaries were so educational, funny and insightful, that we can’t thank her enough. It was like our good friend is showing us the best of the best in Detroit. Pat was so generous with her time and she dropped us in front of the Diamond Jack river cruise and waited for us while we confirmed that tickets were available. We stayed one week in Detroit attending the INCOSE conference and every time we needed some information about the City, Pat replied and guided us. Absolutely personal and amazing service! Thank you Pat.

On our very first trip to Detroit we decided to do a City Tour to get the lay of the land before we ventured out on our own. Patricia of Show Me Detroit was the perfect pick. She was knowledgeable about Detroit's history and present business and social particulars and gave us a fantastic tour of the complicated Motor City. She was flexible to our needs and interests and completely professional. Her knowledge and insights about the inner workings and history of Detroit was superb. I am sure we saw some things that you just won't get on a bigger corporate tour company. I highly recommend this company and its services. We fell in love with Detroit's exciting vibe and will definitely be back.

Show Me Detroit turned a good trip into a great one! Pat Haller is a wonderful tour guide — interesting, friendly, incredibly well-organized and funny. Her private van tour was great fun and really gave us a better understanding of the city’s history, triumphs and challenges. A real highlight of our visit!

Hi Joel (and Janice too) --
First of all, I'm sending a huge thank you for your very helpful feedback about the Detroit restaurants you visited. I've used that information over and over to guide my tour guests. You should be a restaurant critic. And thanks for the great TripAdvisor review. Many of my guests find me through TripAdvisor, and I really appreciate it.
Happy Thanksgiving

We are a group of 7 older women (all in our 60s). Can you accommodate a group of our size?
Written January 21, 2016
We had a large group (10+) and they were able to get a shuttle bus (extra $). They handled the coordination with the bus/limo company

Apo.ogies, as I don't want to seem like some ghoul or voyeur checking out misfortune, but does your tour include the famous derelict buildings of the city, as well as the new and renewed parts of Detroit? Does the tour cover the old railway station and cathedral, for example? I'm visiting Detroit in three weeks time (on a baseball road trip) and I'm keen to see both the good and 'bad' side of the city if at all possible. Best wishes, Eric (London, UK)

Thank you for your inquiry. You can find a lot of information on the Show Me Detroit web site and our Facebbok page. We like to offer a balanced tour that includes current economic development, history, art, architecture, as well as the challenged areas of Detroit, A private tour offers even more time to visit places like the old Packard plant ruins and the Michigan Central Train Station.
