A fort with great history. Many more buildings than expected. We called to request a tour on a weekday and they were very accommodating. We chose the 90 minute tour which was very reasonably priced. Our docent was extremely knowledgeable. We had 3 adults and...More

It’s a nice place to visit if you want to explore Detroit and its history! I’m pretty sure this place is haunted, if you’re not afraid, go take a look

One of the forgotten gems of the city. It is NOT a place people will tell you to go, nor is it an easy find, but it IS one of the few real historical places left in the Detroit area. A fort built in 1760ish...More

This is a really cool place to visit. However, it is very sad to see so much of the place deteriorating and I really wish they had the money to preserve things better. Clearly the place cannot continue much longer the way it is... stuff...More

We had a great, educational tour at Fort Wayne. I learned lots about the history of Detroit. Fort Wayne is on the river and is a beautiful place. I knew nothing about Fort Wayne and was very impressed.

Historic Fort Wayne is just that, historic. Old, dilapidated and in need of TLC and a lot of restoration. Few buildings were open and the grounds could be maintained better. Dirty dishes in the barracks. An unfriendly tour guide wouldn't let us "tag-a-long" with his 4...More

Needs a ton of work, BUT, soooo much history and so much to see. Good place to volunteer, the staff is incredible and very knowledgable. Wish more people would visit and help here.

Seeing the design and the planning and construction for a fortification which was never used was very interesting.

The initial presentation that explained the history of the Fort was interesting, made me eagerly anticipate the tour. The buildings are amazing, the opportunity to get up close to history is a wonderful idea-HOWEVER our tour guide left a lot to be desired. All participants...More
