Nice Urban Park

Hart Plaza has an excellent location on the Detroit River. It has some interesting public art and historical markers. It is better, of course, in warm weather.

Was staying in a hotel that looked over this thing for a week, it didn't operate once. Nor did I see many, if any, people hanging around it. Get a photo as you walk past, job done.

The park has great views and is located on the Detroit River. There are many wonderful structures with great historical significance. The area needs some rebuilding.

Hart Plaza was dedicated in 1976 to the memory of the late Sen. Philip Hart (1912-1976). It is home to many summer festivals, ranging from the Techno Festival during Memorial Day Weekend to the Jazz Festival during Labor Day weekend, and many festivals in between. There is a statue here dedicated during Detroit's Tricentennial in 2001 of Antoine Cadillac, founder... More

A labor day tradition Hart Plaza is a great venue for the world's largest, free Jazz Fest! An amazing line-up of world class musicians. Enjoy the breeze while strolling down the beautiful riverfront walkway designed by Isamu Noguchi and Shuji Sadao. Great to see people enjoying themselves and appreciating the living history of Detroit.

This is a great park for outdoor festivals and activities. We went here for the Jazz Fest which was a blast. The plaza has a signature water structure which is really nice and it is right on the water front. The breeze you can get from the water and the open area to sit and relax. A really nice place... Thoroughly enjoyed this year's Jazz Fest and the three performance venues right off Hart Plaza. And it was fantastic to see the FOUNTAIN fully restored in all its glory! A true Detroit gathering place.

My friend and I went to hear the Jazz festival in Hart Plaza. Great venue facing the riverfront of Detroit River. Beautiful statues through out the plaza. The most breathe taking is the one of Underground Statuary and Memorial on the Detroit River facing Windsor, Canada.

Hart Plaza is a hub of activity for festivals and events downtown, but it also offers a hint of history, reminding visitors of the use of the Detroit River for the Underground Railroad, helping salves escape the country to have freedom in Canada.
