My principal complaint is that I was prevented from returning to my seat until after the typically lengthy classical piece was over. As a result, I missed a fair portion of it. And I left to check on my son who had an allergic attack. However, the reason, shouldn't really matter. If I'm a paying patron, I ought to be... More

The DSO sounds great! Orchestra Hall is beautiful except something needs to be done to the backdrop of the stage. Good size lobby area for people to mingle and intermission.

I have loved the DSO since I first saw them in elementary school. Being a band kid, I have always loved seeing live performances of music. The DSO is grand and the music is even better. If you can catch a ticket, I highly recommend seeing the DSO for locals and travelers alike.

The Detroit Symphony and its venue, Orchestra Hall, are a very good fit. The Orchestra is first rate and the acoustics within Orchestra Hall are outstanding. Interesting to contemplate is the fact that labor issues almost closed the symphony a few years ago and before that Orchestra Hall was almost going to the wrecking ball. This is our first visit to Detroit. DSO and Joshua Bell perform Symphonie Espagnole and the result is amazing! The sound of the concert hall is excellent although we sat in the back of the second level. Parking was very easy in the back for the concert hall. Strongly recommend for classical music lovers...

My wife and I visited to see the Planets. It was a fantastic concert and the venue is perfect for the show! We sat in the 4th row in front and I have to say that it is probably too close. My wife (the music buff) really enjoyed being this close to the musicians, but I found that it was... More

We attend the Friday Coffee Concerts during the concert season and are entertained by a fantastic symphony orchestra. A real gem of Detroit.

Attended Centennial Sinatra (Steve Lippia + DSO) at 3:00 pm on Sunday 11th October, four seats in the Dress Circle (Right Cn row G). Steve Lippia positioned too far forward on the stage; at best I could see him from the waist up, at worst he was a disembodied head. Most of the seats around us were unsold, so I... More
