"Back in the day" this was THE place to be buried. . It is still a lovely place for a peaceful drive or walk. A huge cemetery with 71,000 people interred here, it boasts one of the largest numbers of private mausoleums anywhere. A quick...More

I have family buried here, so I visit from time to time to clean their grave markers. The cemetery is generally well maintained, and I found out on my last visit that they will provide shovels to assist in clearing overgrowth of grass around grave...More

Dates from 1895 and has lots of famous Detroiters like Dodge, Ford, and Hudson. The star is Rosa Parks. The staff is helpful. Beautiful to visit.

I wanted to pay my respects and visit Rosa Parks' grave when in Detroit. NO WHERE on their website does Woodlawn indicate where she is buried except to say she is in a mausoleum. There's also no sign or marker telling you a thing when...More

My grandmother is laid to rest in this cemetery. The gravestones reflect a lot of history. It is truly a tribute to those who have passed away so many years old.

This cemetery is beautiful, especially when trees are flowering in the spring, or leaves are in color in the fall. The older sections have beautiful monuments. Ask for a map at the office, as you enter, especially if you are interested in some of the...More
