Has all the main anchors and lots of sport shops. Everything else is not mainstream apart from a Hollister. I read a lot of people writing it felt unsafe or uncomfortable. The mall is in a predominantly Arab community so expect the majority of the clientele to be non-white. I didn't see any issues with that nor did the mall feel unsafe or uncomfortable in any way at all. I think every mall I have been to in the Detroit Metro area are very mixed in terms of clientele, no issues there at all for me.

I am temporarily living nearby and walk to and through this mall almost daily. I've never had an issue with anyone and find the mall to be clean and well kept.
There are a decent number and variety of stores here including Sears, Macy, Penney's and smaller stores like 21 etc. The food court is clean and has a good variety of offerings (but don't expect to find many heart-healthy choices here.) A Coffee Beanery is a pleasant change from the Omnipresent Starbucks.
There is a large Muslim community that uses this mall and they're just shopping like everyone else. As in all malls, there are some teens that hang around here but I've never seen an issue. Perhaps the previous reviewer who didn't feel safe was intimidated by their presence, but I feel comfortable here. Most stores aren't designed for a white guy in his 60s like me, but I come for the walk and a cup of coffee. And I can always hang out in the tool section of Sears. :)

Due to its design you have walk alot to hit the stores you want. Be aware that its a teenage hangout, with groups of teens just looking for trouble. Overall just average

This looks like an impressive and attractive mall. However the first impression is of a huge anchor store that's vacant, next to a food court that has about 1/3 of its restaurants closed. I made the mistake of trying to visit and have a bite to eat before a 7:30 movie at the nearby AMC. I was served at one of the restaurant booths, telling them that I wanted to eat inside. No problem, except nobody told me that the mall would close at 7, with security guards walking through shouting "the mall is closed" as I took my first bites. Really? You'd think that the restaurant might point that out. Even more, you'd think that a major shopping mall would be open a little later than 7PM if they want to get some business back after the pandemic. Maybe I can understand why there are so many vacant places.

This mall was located near where we were staying so we decided to mall walk here after our dinner elsewhere.
We parked and I noticed that there were no other people walking into the mall even though it was about 6 pm on a Friday night. A car with completely blacked out windows drove by us as we entered.
Inside the mall there were restrooms which I refused to utilize as there was a group of young men and women loitering in the hall blocking the doorways. Pretty soon, the security guards approached them and I heard one of them say, "I could escort you out right now!"
In this day and age of terrorist bombings and shootings, being in the clear minority in a place like this was quite unnerving to say the least. We did our walk rapidly, seeing more security than we have ever seen anywhere, and then got the heck out of Dodge!!
It seems like it is in a nice part of Dearborn, but I was entirely a fish out of water here and felt very uncomfortable. It's sad to continue to see places like this die out because people feel threatened to even go. I would never go there again.

I can't believe how this once beautiful theater has become the most vile disgusting place in the mall. They should pay you to come in. I'm very disappointed in what has become of this place. I've never been to an AMC theater in any state I've lived in that was in this bad of condition. Thoroughly disappointed in AMC for allowing this it's an awful representation of them.

Was visiting the area and our hotel was close to the mall. My husband wanted to work out at the LA Fitness on site while I shopped with my kids. When my husband texted me, after he was rejected entry to LA Fitness (left his ID back at the room)(refused to look him up in the system - which displays his photo), he then noticed that the only 2 Caucasian patrons he saw, were carrying guns in holsters. There was also a large amount of security present in the mall, just standing around. The gun carrying men and the security gave my husband an uncomfortable feeling and he interrupted my shopping and suggested we leave. I am not sure if there has been trouble in the past or gang activity. The Mall seems very clean inside and out but somewhat empty. No shopping was done.

Fairlane Mall at one time was the place to shop. Not anymore! With all of the roaming teenagers and unattended children running around it is not my idea of relaxing shopping. Many vacant store areas should give you an idea of the atmosphere.

Did not feel comfortable shopping there. Fight broke out while we were shopping. Left and vowed to never return.
