A little boring. A remember that you should start/buy the tour at “The Henry Ford”, not at the factory.

Super impressive! The tour starts out with learning about the history, present and future of the production facility. You then get a walking tour around the facility and above the factory line. It was impressive to see the automation and how clean everything was. Its...More

Such a great tour. This place was so cool. Definitely worth the trip. The detail in the videos and backstory was amazing. The original cars was just really great.

We were in the last tour yesterday and the staff all went home early. But...it was still so cool! The two movies were so awesome (one over the top amazing), the roof top observatory was awesome to see, and we were still able to see...More

We went to during the Thanksgiving break when the line was not up and running. But it is still worth the trip. There's two videos and you still can walk through the plant and read the descriptions and see the stages of putting a car...More

Well worth checking out if your interested in how it all comes together. Basically one big commercial for Ford, but whatever. Self guided tour of truck plant. Well laid out flow and good views.

The Ford Rouge Factory Tour showcases the building of the F150 and how the factory works, the tour is enjoyable enough if you are a car fan but is probably missable if cars are not your thing. You have to get the bus for the...More

A true piece of American History. The very first fully self contained automobile factory was built here. The modern facility is where the Ford F-150 is currently produced. (There is another F-150 production line in another state.) They have a couple of presentations before you...More

Talk about foresight--Henry Ford acquired the 2,000 River Rouge land in 1915. Sited on a river and near rail lines for delivery of coal and iron ore, it was built as a totally vertically-integrated factory, supplying its own power and steel. There is a wonderful...More

It was fun to watch the trucks get put together piece by piece. It is hard to believe that the correct parts are put on each truck as it passes by, so many different options! Impressive that they are working to make the factory as...More

Dearborn restaurants?? (6 Replies)
Spending the weekend in Dearborn, camping. Would like some suggestions for dinner at restaurants in the Dearborn area. We are visiting Greenfield Village, Henry Ford Estate, Ford Rouge Factory Tour and going to a Tigers game. Anyone eaten at the Big Fish restaurant? Thanks for any help.

There are several places on Michigan Avenue in West Dearborn. Kiernan's Steak House at Michigan and Monroe and another block west is Buddy's which is known for deep-dish pizza and Italian. If you want a great Sunday brunch, check Guilio's in the Hyatt or the Dearborn Inn.

Hi, we will be in DET / DER for 1 Day (2nights), staying at the Marriott Courtyard on Mercury Dr. in Dearborn We plan to do the Ford Rouge Factory Tour in the morning an go to downtown Detroit after lunch. We will not go into all details of the factory, so maybe we will have time for a look into the museum also? I have found out public transportation by train or busses 200 or 037 on weekdays. And here are my questions: Can we leave our car at the Dearborn Amtrak station for free, even if...More

"Can we leave our car at the Dearborn Amtrak station for free, even if we don't take the train?" YES. "Are there other free parking options near bus stations on Michigan Ave.?" YES, but Amtrak station is the best option. "Are the timetables for busses reliable?" NOT COMPLETELY, but they aren't too bad. "Is going into downtown by car an option?" YES, and it actually is the preferred way. Most of use go downtown by car. I like in Dearborn and was just in downtown Detroit for dinner...More
