We were full of "modern" style in Pristina so we decided to take a small easy trip to Gracanica Monastery. We were really amazed. So beautiful place with really calming atmosphere.

This monastery church in one of Kosovo's majority-Serb communities has stunning old frescoes that have been in the process of painstaking restoration by students for quite a while, so when you visit some of the frescoes will be unviewable, but which ones are blocked from...More

This is perhaps the main tourist attraction of Pristina, and maybe Kosovo as a whole... if anything, that says a lot more about the lack of tourist attractions in Kosovo, rather than the beauty of this specific attraction... That being said, it is easy to...More

Interesting but not worth the visit unless you are knowledgeable about it or have a guide. This is Serbian area.

Even though I am not a Christian, I enjoyed the historical aspects of the tour of the church. I have visited numerous UNESCO sites, and this is quite unique given the dates of the frescoes, the location and historical circumstances in which it has survived....More

A short bus or taxi ride away from Pristina, this monastery provided an oasis of calmness and beauty. Although not on the scale of those at Pec or Decani, this church has amazing frescoes and probably more than either of the others provides a really...More

Our first visit of the church was during a mass. We could not walk around but the singing accompanying the mass was a special experience. On a second visit a few days later we explored the the medieval frescoes that are in very good condition.
