My husband was a big fan of Del Shannon in his youth, so when we found this museum in Coopersville in was a must see! The Del Shannon exhibit is quite a small area but contains quite a few items of interest. The curators were so nice and welcoming and we had a great conversation. Unfortunately, because our time was limited we didn't see much of the rest of the museum but it looked interesting. We would have liked to spend longer there. As we had come from the UK the curators took our photo to be displayed, made my husband's day and our grandchildren were impressed when we told them!

This is a fun little museum packed with history of coopersville. Info on local war heroes, a local musician, the local drug store and a one room school house is all here. It was very interesting and fun to enlander around. The knowledgeable docents are eager to answer you questions.

Visiting this museum will bring back good memories for the oder generation while showing the younger ones what it was like 'in the day'. Interesting exhibits, hands on stuff, and a well presented display make this unique museum well worth a visit when you are in town.

I have visited Coopersville several times. The first was to go to this museum since I am a huge fan of Del Shannon. The curators at the museum know their stuff! Not only information about Del Shannon, but the town's history as well. They have many fascinating stories for those who like to listen. I enjoy going back over and over simply just to see them, but always take a look around the museum to see what's new!

We came to Michigan because I am a big fan of Del Shannon and I wanted to see the museum and the town he grew up in we were not disappointed and we would love to visit one August when the Del Shannon car show is on for a week but living in Ireland it is a long way to come maybe one day.

Well worth a visit

We have lived in Coopersville for 35+ yrs and had never visited the museum until last year. What a pleasant surprise awaited us when we finally walked thru the museum doors! The place is so much larger than its modest street front suggests and is crammed full of an amazing array of artifacts and memorabilia from decades and centuries past.
If you are interested in exploring local W. Michigan history and small town highlights, I don't think this museum will disappoint you. The cost is negligible and it is right next to the Del Shannon Memorial, train attractions and Farm Museum, also worth seeing.

This is an old interurban railroad substation which is now an historical museum. There is a restored interurban trolley car parked outside next to the museum. Inside are displays representing this area of Michigan, including a reproduction of an early schoolroom.

I like that the curators switch out the displays. I have been there for a concert and several banquets.
