What a treasure in the heart of Chelsea. Great theatre, wonderful venue. Fairly easy to get tickets with a little bit of foresight. Great to combine with a meal at the Common Grill. The restaurant works in tandem with theatre times to assure you have...More

Attending live theater performances is a favorite pastime for me and my wife. Typically we go to community theaters in our area, but about once a year we manage to include a play at the Purple Rose. The actors are all first-rate. The plays are...More

Remodeled since my last visit. Play (Willow Run) was quite well done. It gives a lot of insight into women who worked at the bomber plant. Where they came from, initial problems, interaction, etc. A little music, a little dancing, and a little plot. Good...More

This is a small, intimate setting for a first rate play. Right now, Willow Run is playing. It follows the lives of four women who went to work in MI building bombers during World War II. We share their hopes, dreams, determination and joys as...More

Brand new work by Jeff Duncan. Intimate theater setting. Interesting set and story line, based on interviews with actual Rosie the Rivetters who built bombers during WW2 at the Willow Run plant. Fascinating. The women worked in pairs, with their precise movements resembling a duet...More

The Purple Rose is a gem of a theater. It’s small and quaint and there is not a bad seat in the house. We have seems at least a half dozen plays here and every single one is outstanding. We are grateful to have such...More

I've seen over 90 performances here & generally make reservations for everything without reading much about the play ahead of time--enjoy being surprised instead... Would love to see more of Wayne David Parker, as he's one of our favorites! We wish they would go back...More

We truly see a range of attire here at the theater. Dressy casual or business casual are the most common. Jeans are absolutely fine. Just be comfortable and enjoy!

We have been in all rows on all sides and have yet to have a bad seat. I am a short adult, 5', so often have difficulty seeing over the person in front of me and have never had any sight problems in this theater. Enjoy!
