Don’t bother to camp here if you don’t go to sleep at 9pm at night. You literally can’t make a peep after quiet time without getting yelled at.

We set up to do an outdoor movie that want pointing at any ones camper, and the sound was quieter then “ neighbors” had their music playing, and we were immediately told to turn it off that want allowed, and it was quiet time. Literally NEVER at any other state campground been told this. Thanks for ruining a fun evening.

Site are dirty and uneven, not worth your time pick a different place to spend your time.

Ranger came to campsite at 9:50pm and stated "If you aren't all in bed in 10 minutes, you are all evicted." We went to bed, but the next am they evicted one of our tent members for talking in their tent past 10pm. If you are ok with a 10pm enf orced lights out and no talking, this is the place for you. Then they told us they could re-rent that site, which was right in the middle of our group's sites, so we re-rented the site. This camp is great for very young families and the very old, and should be warned on the website for anyone staying up past 10.

We were looking for a good camping place the day after July 4 and this was on our list. We drove in and waved at the person in the office and drove around to look at the sites. Within minutes a ranger guy in a golf cart was chasing us because our license plate hadn't been checked to see if we had paid the DNR fee and we hadn't gotten a day permit. So we drove back to the office. The guy there said we didn't need a permit just to look and didn't check our license plate. He did proceed to give us a lengthy lecture about driving slow in the campground so we didn't run over any children. When we said we didn't want to run over any children, he cut us off and said he gave everyone this lecture. The campground hosts, an older couple, sit in chairs at the front of the park and monitor everybody and everything that goes on. Did not look friendly. Never seen that before in Michigan state campground. Maybe this was a bad day, but we went elsewhere. Watch for the guy in the golf cart if you go there.

We are returning home from a weekend trip when we arrive in Cadillac. It is time for a break and the Heritage Nature Trail/Study Area (235-acre preserve) in William Mitchell State Park is a perfect spot. The loop trail (less than 3 miles) is easy and there are exhibit signs along the trail. We walk through the forest and wetlands crossing a footbridge over Black Creek. It is cold so not much wildlife to see but we had the trail to ourselves. Being a wetland, the insects are probably a problem during warmer months … but not today!

Nice campground with clean restrooms and plenty of showers. We went the weekend after Labor Day so it was pretty quiet.

This is a great park for fishing, boating and kayaking. Located between Mitchell Lake and Cadillac Lake, the campground has frontage on the channel between the lakes and beaches on both lakes. Try to get a channel site, they're awesome!

Our family enjoys the beach on Lake Mitchell. It's a nice place to go on a warm, summer evening. One of the better spots in the area to watch the sun set.

It is right along the canal that joins Lake Cadillac and Lake Mitchell. The canal has been beautified and looks wonderful. There is also a new pedestrian bridge on M-115 that crosses the canal. Very nice. The campsites are a tab to close to each other and the smoke does get thick in the evening
