Being a lover of greek folk tradition and jewels I thought that this would be the best place for me to visit while being in North Evia. And I was right. From outside this place seems as an ordinary jewel shop however when you open the door you get amazed by the greek folk jewels that decorate the windows. Mr. Theofanis' collection is great and he is very friendly and willing to explain in which area each jewel was worn. He also makes jewels inspired from the folk ones and contemporary jewels, however there is no need to buy if you don't want. Concerning me a pair of greek folk style earrings was the best memory from my Evia holidays. Prices are reasonable. A good place to visit if you want to have a taste from the Greek folk Culture. You may have to wait if there are customers in the shop until Mr Theofanis has the time to guide you. Meanwhile you can admire the jewels on your own.

We have bobbed around the Greek Islands for some years.In the early years we carried the definitive island guide , Greek Island hopping by Frewin Coffey. Excellent. The boats are now good and more reliable but don't expect luxury. As you stay on different islands you will find wonderful beaches fantastic walking of all levels of difficulty. Walk the spine of the island of Amorgos with views of the viridian sea and distant islands. Walk the long beaches of Naxos and swim happily naked! Accomodation can easily be found when the boat docks or book ahead. There are all levels of comfort and price. Great for cheap rooms and Boutique hotels. I love meeting people from all countries and this is one of the pleasures of a holiday like this. Two weeks is ok but five is better! Cant wait for the next trip.
