We had a great day climbing the dunes, playing in the sand and swimming in the lake. The dunes have beautiful views from the top, or even the middle if you can't make it to the top! The sand is nice and soft, not much...More

We found this park to be perfect for a beach day with grandkids. The restrooms we used were very clean. Beaches around the world have stuff that washes ashore, we didn't see anything but some straw-like weeds. Picnic tables were perfect for lunch, bought ice...More

Campsite close to the beach.... wasn't too crowded. Large sand dunes... you are allowed inflatables in the water which was a plus. Campsite was large ...downsides were mosquitos and highway noise at night. It is very close to the road. Bring earplugs

I am not one to put down state parks or anything to do with nature but this was bad. We visited the park twice paying the $9 entrance fee. We saw several Park Rangers patrolling the parking lot which was nice but other than that...More

Not quite Sahara Desert kind of dunes but still some very large piles of sand. The beach had waves and was an enjoyable spot to cool off. Campground was full on a hot weekend. Electric sites seemed ok but not very private. Non electric sites...More

Met up with some friends to enjoy a beach day in June 2017. There was a family fun atmosphere on the beach, lots of umbrellas and towels and, of course, the draw of climbing the dune. Weather was great and the whole place had a...More

There is something uneasy about this place. Bathroom is unkept and feels like it should have been used in a slasher flick. There is an ominous and empty feeling to this park. When we arrived hardly anyone was there. This was about 11am. We had...More

Climbing the hill is always a draw for us every year, but in recent years, the bathrooms have been a reason to not really want to go. BUT now they have an entirely new facility - bathrooms that are clean and, dare I say, inviting....More

They have bathroom stalls, but it is a very nice bathroom area. I was able to change in the bathroom--it was very clean.

There are pebbles that wash up on shore but this isn't a rock-hunter's paradise. It's a beautiful beach & dunes to climb & sunsets to see. If you want rocks go father north to Petosky or the Apostle Islands.
