My wife and I went here for a relaxing day of leisure during the summer. This was our first visit. And it was much better than we expected! Not the largest zoo, but very quiet and relaxing...we enjoyed the bears, tigers and lions! The price is resonable and there is a picnic and play area. It also has a gift... More

I live nearby but had never visited this place until last week. We took our 2 year old and it was perfect for her to see so many animals up close! And she loved the petting farm area and ended our visit with some playtime on the playground. Zoo is very well maintained all paths are clean as well as... More

The zoo has animals that people can pet and a bird exhibit in which you feed the birds and they land on you. They even have a reindeer which you can get a picture with from black Friday to Christmas. I adopted an animal for $30, which I will get pictures of. They have great gifts in the gift shop.... More

As a long-time member of several metro zoos I always enjoy getting to the smaller places. Wilderness trails is a pleasant, mostly shaded zoo with a surprising variety of animals which seemed well adjusted to people around them. As usual most prefer to sleep in the heat of the afternoon so we're in their provided borrows and nests, but there... More

Beautiful gardens and a welcoming ticket kiosk set this visit off on the right foot . We began at the pond feeding huge snapping turtles and carp. The aviary collection had excellent information posted and rare birds . The petting farm is cute and the animals welcoming. The animals had huge areas to run and to enjoy . The setting... More

Was there today and observed some very small cages and habitats. The Bears sit on a concrete slab with a small cement pool. It's about a 20x20 CAGE. The monkeys sit in a small enclosed chain link area and sit on elevated chain link fences. The lions have a small habitat, nowhere to roam or hardly walk. Same for the... More

We also had two teens in our midst so we were hesitant to venture forth to such a small;so we thought, place. As we entered the greeting was friendly but not forced and a genuine interest in our day was acknowledged All was explained as we viewed animal, reptile and bird alike. Clean, open and we'll maintained enclosure gave way... More

This zoo is bare bones--no attempt is made to provide appropriate habitats for the animals. The lions and tigers are in enclosures of good old Michigan land. That being said--the enclosures are big enough to provide opportunities for walking and stretching and the animals look well fed. There were plenty of workers about cleaning and feeding and answering questions. I... More

This place was unexpectedly wonderful. We reviewed Trip Advisor reviews and were not sure what to expect. The staff was friendly, and the up close animal viewing and interaction was something you don't get in larger zoo facilities. We walked through at a nice, leisurely pace spending about 2 hours to see everything. Would highly recommend this for a family... More
