We've been customers of Lemon Creek winery and orchards for a number of years. We've always enjoyed our experiences in the past. Unfortunately, last Saturday was a very unpleasant experience. Everything was fine until it came time to make our payment in the store. There was a sign stating the law about wearing masks. The young woman at the cash register was wearing a mask, but none of the other Lemon Creek employees were wearing masks in the shop. Some of the customers inside wore masks, but many did not. While we were waiting in line to pay, there was an employee without a mask standing right next to us. I asked him about please wearing a mask and he walked away but stayed nearby. It was an overall bad experience for my family.

We are sorry you felt unsafe. Our employees are suppose to wear masks unless they are outdoors more than 10 feet away. We usually get the opposite complaints about us being too careful. We will definitly speak to the boys.
Thank you for the information.

This pace was uncomfortably busy but they had a good system to move people through. Too busy though to really sit and enjoy the atmosphere and wine. They had a lot of wine too choose from but set wine tasting selections which isn’t our favorite way to taste wine. The tasting were a little pricey. We tried some dry reds and liked them all. Nothing really different or stood out from other wines we liked in the area so we didn’t end up buying a bottle. Would love to go back here when there aren’t multiple bus loads of people.

Met a group of old school friends at Lemon Creek Friday night. We all enjoyed the live music along with a charcuterie board, some food from the food truck and were very impressed with the wines. Large outdoor area plus a small farm marked. Great for friends or families. We WILL be back.

WOW has this place grown since the last time we came! Very crowded, but it went fast. Tastings were great! Many flights to choose from depending on your taste. The price per bottle was reasonable! They also had a little farm stand with apples and other items. One of my favorite places to visit while in this area! They did offer limited food, but they also let you bring your own in.

Only flights or bottled wine available- no glasses. Order outside and pick up your order outside only ( which is ok). Both Gravity and Red Top, which are nearby, have inside ordering/seating. Lemon Creek not very inviting to me at this point. Red Top is a really cool wine bar.

While this place was on beautiful property. It It was like being on a farm and had a beautiful bridge over some water. We did take a beautiful photo of the 2 of us while we were here. The drawback was they did not do tastings. You had to buy a flight and nothing was marked well on where to go and how to buy the flight. We went into the tasting room however they were not using it as a tasting room they were using it to sell single Glasses of wine. We did not have any of the wine from here because we were disappointed as to the lack of signage.

I am a frequent visitor to wineries wherever I travel had hoped to visit Lemon Creek for some time now. Being close by on a recent trip to New Buffalo, we stopped in. Now that we have visited I am so sorry that I wasted our time. I called ahead and asked if blueberries were available to pick and was told that yes, both blueberries and raspberries were ready. Only to find the raspberries over-ripe and no blueberries to pick at all. When I mentioned to the young man at the counter that I had been told otherwise, he responded rudely. An older and even more gruf gentleman then appeared to ask if there was a problem. I quickly sumised what the problem was - we are Hispanic.
Because I have experienced this ridiculous behavior before, I understood the message that they were sending, but did not leave immediately. My intention was to teach our young granddaughters how to behave in the face of such adversity, with grace. Needless to say, they don't have tor worry about us returning. But, I will be spreading the word about their atrociuous business sense,

Our group of 17 attended a wine tasting that we had reserved for Sunday, 11/11/18. We arrived at 3:20 and were on the bus leaving at 3:45. The rudeness of the staff was incredible. It was obvious that our group was not welcomed at the winery. Everyone, and I mean everyone, left without buying anything and were very upset at how they were treated. No explaining the wines, no interacting with the guests. No suggestions on the order of tasting. There was no conversation from the two ladies at the tasting bar. And when i reached out to them to ask about this treatment, she wanted to check video. What i received back was that they were busy. Nothing else. But i bet if checked closer, she would see little interaction with my guests. No talking about wines, tasting or selling our group on Lemon Creek wines. This was a reserved time, scheduled for an hour for which i prepaid half of our tastings to reserve staff for our group. It was not like we just showed up. It was a special occasion for my mothers 75th anniversary. I would not recommend this winery. There are many others in the area, that will take a group and treat them like they should be treated. Talk about the wines, sell us the wines and make it a fun experience!

Miss Laura Turley...You had a reservation for 3;30 pm. You were 10 minutes early but had no problem or wait time to get to the bar. They were on top of it and ready for you. You paid $8.00 per person for 5 wine tastings and the opportunity to keep the glass if you wished. You received 5 wine tastings and the glass. Wrapped by the people you are maligning. The video shows them explaining the menus and answering questions. It also shows them pointing to the wine list and smiling.
Beyond that, I don't know what your expectations were or how this was so horrible that a week later you feel the need to repeat this BAD REVIEW on every social media site you can think of.
The fact that your complaint is vague but you were definite about getting all of your money back, leads me to wonder what is bothering you to this degree. I apologise again for your disappointment but I must stand with my employees on this one.

This was a nice sized tasting room. We almost had to beg the guy doing the tasting to notice us. There were only about 4 other people in the winery at the time. We were given no information about the wines. The guy seemed to want to get thru the tasting & get you out..The Cab Franc and Lerner wines were decent.

My husband, 5 year old daughter and I are thinking of coming over to the area to explore a bit from Chicago. Somebody recommended Lemon Creek winery as a good spot to explore. I am however weary of taking a child to a winery, and want to have an honest answer if children are welcomed, or generally frowned upon. I would of course love to taste some wines, but don't want to feel uncomfortable with my daughter there.

Hi Laura! Thanks for your question. Yes, we are family friendly! We have a farm market and seasonal u-pick that is great for kids! They are also welcome in the winery, we do have some seating available in our group room.
