About
For nearly a century, West Michigan has been the home of some of the most productive and picturesque fruit farms in the Midwest. Lake Michigan's "lake effect" has sheltered the fruit of our region from the harshness of winter - blanketing the fruit vines with snow and providing slightly warmer temperatures. 12 Corners Vineyards was started by a small group of friends who grew up in Michigan and recognized the uniqueness of a site just four miles off Michigan's famed "Gold Coast." The hamlet of Twelve Corners, Michigan is our namesake. We have an 115 acre estate planted with both vinifera and hybrid grapes. The vineyards are planted on soils of varying textures and slopes, bringing a distinct and pronounced terroir to the wines we proudly serve.

We planned a weekend camping trip to Michigan. We kicked off the weekend by starting off at a few wineries. Due to the current Covid environment, we were looking for a location that could easily accommodate. This place is fantastic due to plenty of seating around the facility include some shaded locations. Additionally, there seating was upon a hill with view of the vineyards around the surrounding land which provided a very scenic view.

Unfortunately, this location only accommodated tastings inside the facility. It would have been nice to have the tastings outside.

This was an okay stop on the wine trail. The photos are a bit deceiving. While it is a nice facility it overlooks I-94 which is a bit off putting. Never the less we had a wine tasting which is done inside standing at the wine counter. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Complimentary take home glass with each tasting. Overall the wines were pretty sweet to our taste, we did not find one we liked enough to buy a bottle of. We did each buy a glass (plastic cup if you want to take it outside on the patio) to enjoy outside. It was fine but I probably wouldn't return.

Tracey thank you for a great time tasting the wines. Your knowledge of the wines and fun personality made our day. Mainly did white wines. Niagara and Pinot were our favorites. Surprised by the apple Hard Cider was sooo smooth and refreshing.

We visited 12 Corners in South Haven but I cannot find it listed. Nice selection. Friendly and informative staff. We were lucky enough to do our samples with another couple. Instant friends and fun tasting.

My husband and I take a weekend jaunt to SW MI each fall. We are always looking for new wineries to visit and had heard about 12 Corners last year but were unable to make a visit. This year we finally were able to do so and were excited to experience it. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were surprised to see that it wasn't busy. We stepped to the counter to taste and were met by a young lady who had absolutely nothing to share about 12 Corners. We attempted to engage her to no avail. We were very interested in learning about 12 Corners, but she wasn't knowledgeable about the winery or didn't care. While we enjoyed and purchased a couple of bottles, we left there feeling less than welcome and no more knowledgeable about 12 Corners than we did when we arrived. On a brighter note, the setting is beautiful.

Go!
I visited the winery 4/6 as part of a ladies weekend getaway. None of us had ever done a wine tasting, we did not know what to expect. We entered the winery and were warmly greeted by Karl, who acted as our host and server. The venue and surroundings were gorgeous, the wine selection fabulous... but Karl puts it over the top. We took advantage of the 5 tastings for $6 deal, a bargain! Karl was professional, informative and fun. The tasting includes your choice of 5 wine samples, a stemless keepsake glass and a delicious dark chocolate from Vineyards Gourmet Chocolates (also reviewed). We tasted, we laughed, we relaxed, we left with great memories and several bottles of wine. We are already planning our return.

Recently visited with our in-laws. We paid for four tastings and bought three bottles ... total cost $71.43. We asked for a cloth bag (several other customers were given these bags to carry their wine home). I was told I didn't spend ENOUGH money in their store, hence my purchases did not warrant a cloth bag. Well, guess what happened? We were ending our day and walking back to our car and the handles on the paper sack they gave us BROKE! We returned to 12 Corners, but the store was closed for the evening. What a waste of our money. Just FYI ... our local grocery store GIVES away cloth bags for FREE when purchasing wine. Advice: If you plan to visit, bring your own bag.

One afternoon, while vacationing in Saugatuck, MI, Linda and I met another couple at the 12 Corners Winery in Benton Harbor. When we walked through the front door of the beautiful winery, it was empty except for the two servers who smiled just to see customers appear in the doorway. We were amazed because the winery should have been packed with vacationers, but it is fairly new and hasn’t yet established a regular flow of tourist traffic, so we felt privileged to receive all the friendly attention from the servers who explained for six dollars we could choose five wine samples from a generous list of about twenty varieties. Additionally, each person received a chocolate with the final pour and a free stemless glass to take home as a souvenir. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the friendly conversation about the wines and the history of the vineyard of 115-acres planted with both vinifera and hybrid grapes. After our samplings, we purchased a bottle and shared it on the veranda overlooking the vineyard. All-in-all, it was a great experience, one I highly recommend for an enjoyable afternoon outing. The folks at 12 Corners even provide a kid’s area with activities to keep them busy while mom and dad enjoy some adult beverages and friendly conversation.

Saw this winery off the highway driving to Coloma so we decided to go visit. The winery is very clean, organized and huge. The guy that was serving us was very quiet and passive for most of the tasting. He did say he was new, but I did want to know a little bit more about the wine that I was tasting and about the company. Towards the end of the tasting he started to open up a bit more. 12 Corners did open up about a year ago. For the company being so young, the wine was very good. Next time I go on a Lake Michigan Wine Trail tour, I will definitely visit this location again.

My husband and I had been to Napa many years ago when tastings were free and it was not so commercial. This place welcomes wedding and buses and big groups are moving through. The wines are incredible--wines I never like were amazing! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and fast-paced. It is commercial, but in the best sense of the word. This is a business and they know how to run a successful winery. Beautiful deck, cheeses from Wisconsin that were so good. I have never had smoked blue cheese--what a wonderful invention!
