Very Nice Park
Jul 2021 • Family
A very nice park along the water front. We came for the fireworks. A lot of green space and a nice walk along the water for us.

Relax and reflect....
Aug 2018 • Couples
This is a beautiful park on Bay City's western shore, overlooking the Saginaw River.
There is parking, access to the river - walk, and great views of the river and its traffic.
It's a great place to recreate, relax and reflect; and remember those who sacrificed so we can enjoy these gifts.
This is a place where one can be both happy, and thankful.

Nice riverfront park
Aug 2018 • Solo
This is a great place to watch the river, take a walk, play some ball, have a picnic, attend an event (fireworks on the 4th), and so forth. It's on the riverwalk so provides a convenient place to park your car if you want to walk or run the trail by the river. Very nice on a sunny summer day.

Respectful and Beautiful Memorial
Aug 2018 • Couples
If you bike or walk the Riverwalk path you are sure to come across the Veterans Memorial Park. There are a few areas to host large family picnics. But unless you have paid for one of the covered picnic areas, the only bathrooms open are outhouses. The Veteran's memorial is something to check out, just look for the helicopter. It's the first memorial I have seen that includes pictures. It gives one a different perspective when you see how young some of these men were.

Fireworks!
Jul 2017 • Family
We walked quite a ways to get to the park as parking around there is a challenge. Arriving about 3 hours ahead of the fireworks was no problem. The grassy area was pleasant, there was a nice sidewalk along the river and there is a cool pier (covered on the end) to stroll. All in all a very pleasant place. I don't know if they still do, but I used to take my kids there years ago for civil war reenactments in the fall.

Beautiful Park on Saginaw River
May 2017 • Family
I was surprised to read some of the reviews. We thought this was a beautiful park. Very quiet and serene. It is well kept with lots of places to sit down and take in the scenery. We weren't there during a big festival, so maybe that is the difference. We enjoyed a few hours with the family and nature. Well kept and clean.

Beautiful muti-use park.
Aug 2016 • Couples
Veterans Memorial Park sits on the Saginaw river and connects to a large walking trail. It hosts a few concerts in the summer, as well as The River Roar. It has a small marina. It's a great viewing area for the annual Bay City Fireworks which also has amusement rides during the fireworks 3 day festival. The walkway thru "Vets" park connects to baseball diamonds, and volleyball fields. Along the walkway in the park, near the marina, is an 18 hole miniature golf, ice cream and video game shop. There is also a Hooters restaurant.

Bucolic Park
Sep 2016 • Friends
Gorgeous, large park on the western bank of the Saginaw River. Very nicely manicured lawns of green mounds and nice flower beds and serpentine walkways past lush willow tress. Prepare for a long healthy walk if you do the entire length and take in the views from the walking bridges out to the middle of the river and over to the island. A beautiful statement for Bay City!

Tall ships 2016
Jul 2016 • Couples
We have been Veterans Park before for the Bay City fireworks. Wenonah Park is much nicer. Overall we enjoyed our day at the Tall Ship Celebration. It was not as I thought. I felt like I was at an amusement park. You have to pay just to see the ships then pay more to stand in line to get on the ships. We wanted 3 hours tour thee ship of the celebration, the Galeon. It was one of the better tours. I toured all the ships beside the Viking ship because it was another 2 hour wait. I thought the ships' sails would be displayed but they weren't. I thought you could tour ships multiple times all weekend but you can't, only once. Some of the volunteers were extremely rude but others were friendly. The lines for the ships for set up odd. The celebration was extremely busy. Wish it came for more than a weekend. It would reduce some of the crowd. We had great weather. I don't know if I would return to the celebration in future years. Afterwards I felt, been there, done it.

Tall ships and fun
Jul 2016 • Family
We walked through Veterans Park during the 2016 Tall Ships Celebration, and the park was very busy but not overcrowded. We enjoyed walking over the Lafayette Street Bridge to get to the park, and enjoyed seeing the Huey medevac helicopter on display and the views of the river. Lots of shade was needed as it was a bright warm day and a cool breeze from the river helped.
