I enjoyed this trip a lot. some of the food stands are overpriced, but the zoo is very interactive and fun! we did go near the colder months, so not many animals came out. will definitely come back in the summer though!

What an amazing zoo in a wonderfully wooded and authentic forested area. The animals were, for the most part, very active. There were some very unusual animals in this zoo and the tram taking you to the remote African exhibits was perfect. Not necessary, but when the feet are already tired, this was a great way to keep on going! 100% love this zoo and all that it had to offer!

This adorable zoo has been part of my son's childhood and we never tire of it. Saw the lions for the first time. The baby Red Panda in the nursery was darling! In the reptile house you can see Panamanian Golden Frogs which are extinct in the wild. Wild Africa is a unique treasure.

Beautiful day for being outside, that said binder park zoo has become an overpriced limited amusement park. They have very few animals- no petting zoo and the nature trails are closed. Average price to get in is 21$ (new parking fee added) you need to pay extra for any rides or activities. Very few animals and hard to find - see those on exhibit, recommend making the extra drive to John Ball or Detroit Zoo if you seek an animal experience

What happened to Binder Park? We went for the first time in about five years, and this zoo is just a fraction of what it used to be. It seems like half of the exhibits are gone. The birds are gone, the African exhibit (guinea hens, watusi cattle) are gone. The trail through the swamp is gone (and most of the animals that were at the end of that trail). The petting zoo is almost completely empty. We used to spend all day here (from open to close). This time we were done by 1:30.
If you want to feed giraffes, or see a Red Panda, then this is an OK zoo. If not, take the time to drive to Grand Rapids, Lansing, or Fort Wayne.

I was very disappointed in the zoo, there were very few animals and very few animal exhibits opened. The park was clean and the staff was nice. Everything was way over priced and the terrain was really rough to walk, even harder for wheelchairs and electric scooters.

The zoo has been a family favorite. Our trip this summer left us with a feeling of the zoo being quite run down. There’s a lot of rotting wood (hand rails, roofs, sidewalks etc). There were a lot of weeds around the sidewalks and fences. A portion of the roof (at the tram waiting area) fell down right next to us while we were waiting for the tram. It’s nice to see all the new additions but seems like the money should be used to care for what’s already there. Some of the animal enclosures were an eye sore and easy to walk past them because they aren’t kept up well. Several enclosures had trash cardboard (from leftover food) for the animals to play with. The place def needs a new team to keep the place maintained and appealing.

After spending 94.00 for a seasonal pass; I was extremely disappointed in Binder Park Zoo. A large amount of exhibits were closed; despite me asking before I bought the pass. I was reassured by the women taking my info for the pass that all the animals were out. WRONG! What animals were out have a very unkept, unstimulating , environment. Come on Binder Park Zoo; the animals and the people paying to visit deserve better than this. I have visited many zoos and Binder Park would not be on my top 10 when you take into consideration the boring, dull and unstimulating environment these animals are to live out their everyday life in. For example, what do the black bears have?A small platform to climb on and what else? Nothing. Nothing to stimulate them or engage them in any way. I definitely will not encourage others to join the zoo until Binder Park puts more effort into giving the animals a better environment to live in and the public a more entertaining educational zoo experience.

We hadn't been to the zoo since before the pandemic started. We took the kids today and we very disappointed. First Binder Park does not follow the CDC guidelines regarding mask. They force you and your kids to have a mask on outside even when socially distant. Second, over half the exhibits were closed and all of the food options were closed or VERY minimal. This was not a pleasant trip and we won't be back!

We go to zoos every trip. We have seen many great zoos and a few not-so-great. This was by far the worst I have seen in decades. Many of the animal paddocks were empty of animals and the fencing was down. many areas were overgrown. It is sad that a zoo can be allowed to operate in this state of management.

Yes, You can bring your own food and water into the park. I recommend it. There is not much choice of food and it is of course expensive.

Parking is always free, I don't think there are any free days, but if you have a zoo membership at another zoo, they partner with those zoo's and do 1/2 price admission if I remember right.

They have been out both times we have gone this summer. We didn’t go on 90 degree days, but it was hot both times.
