We went to usher for our seats and were sent upstairs. With someone in our party having mobility issues it took a while to get there. That usher said it was too late to enter, and that we could have entered in our first entrance attempt! So that was frustrating. But once allowed in we had comfortable seats with good sound for the musical performance. It is not too crowded so able to get through break with both restroom and bar stop. It wasn't clear where to park, but we happened upon on-street parking so got lucky.

Nice venue...good site lines...productions are well worth the ticket prices

I enjoyed this venue as a kid...back then it was an old vaudville house that had been converted to a movie theatre....

if you're thinking dinner on Shrewsbury Street and then heading over to the show.....eat real early, as traffic heading to the parking garage directly across the street has Main Street tied up beginning a good 45-60 minutes before the show starts....a little frustrating, especially in the winter when the streets are full of snow and slush and it's not that wise to let passengers in your car out to walk to the lobby while you park the car

We go to shows here 2-3 times a year. It's a grandly restored theater, very comfortable, however there seems to be less leg room in the last row on the floor. We always try to get seats on the main floor. The balcony section is not terrible, but there are some obstructed view seats that are clearly identified when you are selecting seats online.
Staff are always friendly & helpful. There are concessions in the lobby, including a bar. My only complaint is that they keep people in the lobby, opening the theater doors only 30 minutes before show time. It gets crowded in that lobby, and at times you are literally shoulder to shoulder. There should be some flexibility with their "30 minute rule." PLEASE open the doors when the lobby starts to get crowded!
Parking tip: Instead of paying $10 to park in the garage, consider the Salem Street parking lot near the library. It's a 5 minute walk, and exiting is much easier. You'll be home while others are still waiting to exit the garage. There are parking meters, but they're only in effect until 7 or 8 PM. Bring quarters to feed if necessary ($1 per hour.)

Fabulous gem of a theater with great, first class productions that are on par with Broadway. I would give it an excellent rating except for the leg room in the balcony. I am 6'2" and my wife is 5'9". We were both quite uncomfortable after a short time. Even an aisle seat didn't help. We understand that orchastra level seats have more leg room. Next time, we will try those. Also, get their early if you're driving. There is a public parking garage across the street but, the street is very narrow and congested. Traffic police are hired to help but it is still a challenge. Still, worth the trouble!

I've attended concerts, dance, musicals and plays at the Hanover. The quality of the shows they are booking appears to be rising. Sight lines are good -- I've paid more and had worse for theaters in Boston. The ushers are excellent. Parking is convenient. Social media and email communications are good. A well run organization.

So glad to have the Hanover as part of our art community in Worcester. A beautiful and well maintained venue. The team does a wonderful job curating an eclectic program each year.

Very nice venue. Seats are comfortable. Never had a bad seat here. I have enjoyed several productions. No complaints. It is less expensive than Boston and parking is convenient.

I have never written a negative review on Trip Advisor but this is my first!
My friend purchased tickets via phone in April, 2017 for the 3/16/18 performance of Jersey Boys. She was unable to attend the show and offered the tickets to me. She told me that the tickets were going to be delivered to her on Wednesday, 3/14/18. The tickets did not arrive so she called & explained that she was giving the tickets to a friend. She was told that her friend could pick up the tickets at the "Will Call" window. A short while later she received a phone call from a different person advising that the vendor had come in with the tickets and that her tickets were not available. She had already paid over $1,600 for these 2 tickets in April, 2017 on her Amex card! When she questioned how this could have happened she was told "I'm sorry but the tickets are not available & you will be issued a refund." It would seem clear to me that with the show date 2 days away, that someone else wanted tickets and they sold those 2 previously purchased tickets to the highest bidder. This is not the way to do business. Needless to say, my friend will never purchase tickets to any performance at the Hanover Theatre and neither will I. I'm guessing that the only way that you can be assured that this doesn't happen is to actually go to the box office & purchase the tickets personally. Even then I wouldn't be confident about the validity of the ticket until I was actually sitting in my seat.

My wife and I took in a comedy show here a couple weeks ago. This was ur second time here. It's located downtown Worcester, next to the Federal courthouse. It's relatively easy to get to, and parking is located in a garage across the street. Usually getting across and into the theater is no problem, with the help of police officers working details outside.
The interior dates back to its former days, but restored, so it's not dated. It's a nice theater. They were selling alcohol at a few kiosks on both levels. All little pricey but not as bad as Gillette stadium.
The seats. The seats were a little cramped and the leg room was airplane like. I'm 5'10" and I squeezed into my seat.
The air quality was a little stuffy, they could have pumped in a little more AC. We got a bit warm, but we didn't suffocate.
The acoustics were, meh. Maybe it was just this show, but they weren't the best. The other show we could hear the performance better.
The employees were ok. Not overly warm or approachable, but whatever, I get it it's just a job.
All in all not a bad experience.
