This is an absolute beautiful library. It has been recently renovated and the way the old library was incorporated into the new library is simply stunning. It is a wonderful place to relax. The children's room is great. They have lots of activities going on for children. Their story time is a lot of fun for toddlers. I love thsis l

Residents of Woburn are lucky to have such a beautiful library. the staff are so Wonderfull and there are always programs running for people of all ages, even during covid. There is such a beautiful history behind this place, and even non residents should stop by and see it. There was a remodel done recently and it looks beautiful and still preserves the old building.

The Woburn Library is a great place for everything. You can hang out with friends, print papers out, finish projects, and you can even bring your kid along and drop him at the kids zone for free. Everything at the Woburn Public Library is free. They even have a mini museum inside. And of course the Teen Room where you can hang out with your friends and much more.

The newly renovated WPL is a gem for the community to enjoy for the next 100 years. As a life-long resident of Woburn, I really appreciate that a library has to change with time in order to serve its true purpose, to be a community space, a place where people can study, children can learn and play, and our history can finally be put on display in a way that lets many more people enjoy it.

The exterior of this majestic H. H. Richardson building can now be viewed up close and personal from the new glass-enclosed courtyard in a way that simply was not possible before. The interior restoration of the original building takes it back to the original paint schemes as spec'd by H.H. himself. The original display cases are back in the octagon room where they belong, and where many historic artifacts are now on display and accessible. There is so much art now on display in a way that allows you to really enjoy it. It truly is a museum of Woburn.

Several reviewers have had some very negative things to say about the renovation. I was skeptical at one time as well, but no longer. You simply must visit the new space and take a look now that it is complete.

The Woburn Public Library is a classic HH Richardson architectural marvel (think Trinity Church.) The stone work is spectacular, and the entry way is a turret leading to a vaulted main reading room. They just don't build 'em like this any more. Well worth a visit if you have any interest in outstanding historical architecture.

Excellent modern addition to a beautiful & historic 19th century building, which has been well preserved. Staff was extremely helpful. In all, a first rate facility, especially for a small town.

The new addition is complete and what an impressive library it is. All the modern technology and rooms for the antiques hidden for years in the libraries attic. Please visit and enjoy.

I went to the grand opening of the newly built library, was so excited to see a beautiful modern with a touch of the older building still being there! This summer I'll be taking my Grandson at least once or twice a week!

Four years after my original review, I drove by the WPL to see the expansion. To the majesty of the richly textured, perfectly dimensioned Richardson building there is added a glass box. If there are mortal sins in architecture, this is one. It is akin to adding a McDonalds in front of Mt. Vernon. Shame on the philistines who have done their best to destroy this gem.

The Woburn Public Library in downtown Woburn is an architectual masterpiece by H H Ricardson. But in May 2017 it was closed for renovation and expansion.

So you will have to wait until 2019 to visit this wonderful building.

If you want to borrow books, videos, read newspapers and magazines etc the library has a temporary home in Building 36 in Cummings Park on Washington Street in Woburn. I tell people seeking directions that it's on the same side as Staples but one building North next to the Bank America Building.

It has the same helpful staff as before. Check out their Facebook page.
