Beautiful Place
Jun 2020
Residents of Woburn are lucky to have such a beautiful library. the staff are so Wonderfull and there are always programs running for people of all ages, even during covid. There is such a beautiful history behind this place, and even non residents should stop by and see it. There was a remodel done recently and it looks beautiful and still preserves the old building.

The Woburn Public Library is a great place.

The Woburn Library is a great place for everything. You can hang out with friends, print papers out, finish projects, and you can even bring your kid along and drop him at the kids zone for free. Everything at the Woburn Public Library is free. They even have a mini museum inside. And of course the Teen Room where you can hang out with your friends and much more.

This is an absolute beautiful library. It has been recently renovated and the way the old library was incorporated into the new library is simply stunning. It is a wonderful place to relax. The children's room is great. They have lots of activities going on for children. Their story time is a lot of fun for toddlers. I love thsis l

Historic property. Helpful staff

Excellent modern addition to a beautiful & historic 19th century building, which has been well preserved. Staff was extremely helpful. In all, a first rate facility, especially for a small town.

Pleased with the new library
Jun 2019
The new library extension is finally finished. It has a new bright entrance and a new handicap entrance that is easy to use. There is an excellent children and teen section. There are also comfy seats on the second floor for just relaxing or reading.
I like the way that kept the old building in tact and incorporated the new addition. The old building's architecture is stunning and there is even a small museum. Ask the front desk if you want to go explore some treasures.

Library Renovation
Jun 2019 • Family
After an extensive renovation and construction of a new addition, the Woburn Public Library reopened. An architectural masterpiece by H.H. Richardson, one of the United States' top architects and the architect of Trinity Church in Boston, has been restored to its original grandeur. A new addition elegantly contains program spaces and pays homage to the original building with a soaring atrium. If you're nearby, check library hours and get here. Make sure to see all three levels. It's worth it.

Awersome modern addition with respect for the original structure

The new addition is complete and what an impressive library it is. All the modern technology and rooms for the antiques hidden for years in the libraries attic. Please visit and enjoy.

I went to the grand opening of the newly built library, was so excited to see a beautiful modern with a touch of the older building still being there! This summer I'll be taking my Grandson at least once or twice a week!

A truly masterful joining of the old and the new
Mar 2019 • Solo
The newly renovated WPL is a gem for the community to enjoy for the next 100 years. As a life-long resident of Woburn, I really appreciate that a library has to change with time in order to serve its true purpose, to be a community space, a place where people can study, children can learn and play, and our history can finally be put on display in a way that lets many more people enjoy it.

The exterior of this majestic H. H. Richardson building can now be viewed up close and personal from the new glass-enclosed courtyard in a way that simply was not possible before. The interior restoration of the original building takes it back to the original paint schemes as spec'd by H.H. himself. The original display cases are back in the octagon room where they belong, and where many historic artifacts are now on display and accessible. There is so much art now on display in a way that allows you to really enjoy it. It truly is a museum of Woburn.

Several reviewers have had some very negative things to say about the renovation. I was skeptical at one time as well, but no longer. You simply must visit the new space and take a look now that it is complete.

Update
Oct 2018 • Business
Four years after my original review, I drove by the WPL to see the expansion. To the majesty of the richly textured, perfectly dimensioned Richardson building there is added a glass box. If there are mortal sins in architecture, this is one. It is akin to adding a McDonalds in front of Mt. Vernon. Shame on the philistines who have done their best to destroy this gem.
