OK, you know that you're skiing on a golf course, so you shouldn't be expecting anything very challenging here. But you can still get a good workout going around the different trails, it's a nice setting, and best yet, it's really accessible, so easy to get to. Also, they have a small section where they make snow, which is great given the hit-or miss natural snowfall in the area. They groom all the trails, which is nice, but given the heavily populated surroundings, there's some "encroachment" by non-skiers from the nearby residences. All in all, I rated this above average due to its easy accessibility, groomed trails, and snow-making ability. Where else are you going to find that combination in the Boston area?

We have been to the Weston Ski Track several times a year for many years. They help you get fit for the right size shoes, skis, and poles. They have staff around to help beginners. Several tracks for beginners to advanced skiers. They also have a pro shop and a limited snack bar. They make snow too. So if even if it is a warm winter day, they likely are making snow and keeping the trails well groomed.

We enjoyed our first time cross country skiing today at Weston. The staff were all very friendly, the gear we hired was good, and the tracks were easy for beginners.

We went here on a cold December day. A great place for beginners like us. Surprisingly good snow, plenty of room for skate-skiing and tracks for regular skiing. Enough varied terrain to keep it interesting. Very convenient from 95 and ample parking. Prices are reasonable and rentals available.

I have been cross country skiing at the Weston Ski Track for 15 years. It doesn't matter if you are new to the sport or an old timer, the operators off this facility continue to create fantastic skiing in challenging conditions. Because of their extensive snowmaking equipment and skills, you will not find more consistent nordic skiing joy within 150 miles of Boston. The direct involvement of the DCR in the facility over the last two years has meant increased resources and a continued commitment to winter sports at the Leo J. The success of the ski area must sit with the original founders of the Weston Ski Track several decades ago and their ongoing commitment. But much of the voice of the future has been provided by the many supportive individuals involved in Friends of Leo J Martin Skiing (FOLJMS). Join them. If you have small children check out the Eastern Mass Bill Koch Ski Club. If you are a HS student or a senior, check out Cambridge Sports Union (CSU). Don't miss races on Tuesday nights throughout the winter.
