A trip to the Vineyard is not complete without a visit to this popular gift shop, restaurant and bakery, known for its seemingly ubiquitous T-shirt. The creation of Captain Robert Douglas, a retired air force jet fighter pilot, the 30-year-old Black Dog Tavern has a simple decor, fresh local fish and vegetables daily and crowds in-season. There are four locations on the island.

A bit expensive but the food was very good. They do a very tasty veggie burger which is always a plus and cater for small people too. The bathroom facilities could do with improving. Inadequate for the number of people they were serving at lunch...More

Wonderful coffee, lovely view, great breakfast! If you imagine what Martha's Vineyard is like...this spot is probably what comes to mind. The staff is very service oriented and it's worth it!

Great views of the ocean while you eat. Out of all the restaurants we ate at, this was the most pricey of all. Friendly staff. Had an excellent salad with tuna!

We were stressed for time but enjoyed a pleasant and delicious breakfast - egg on croissant with crispy bacon for each of us. It's tough top pass up the freshly baked goods, especially the muffins and we did not. A blueberry for me and a...More

We knew dining on the Vineyard would be expensive, so we weren't too surprised, but some others definitely were. Expect to pay at least $20 a person for a meal. We both loved what we ordered. However, service was slow; they had one girl working...More

This has become nothing more than an overpriced tourist trap. (Overpriced to the tune of $2-$3 more per plate than other places on the island!) I came here for breakfast with my family, a group of 7 total, and we got terrible service! After we...More

Great girl running place but it's tiny and filled with overpriced stuff that mostly doesn't even say Martha's Vineyard because they have stores on the mainland I assume. The outlet store at the ferry docks offered 2014 2015 t-shirts at half price and it is...More

We had our annual Black Dog breakfast and it did not disappoint. There were five of us this year and we were told that the wait would be around 45 minutes. Actual wait 20 minutes so don't let the kids wander too far (there are...More

I stopped by this morning to get a breakfast sandwich (which was really good) to go. I waited 25 minutes for an egg sandwich. The place wasn't even half full. The three people who ordered before me - some of which were bagels - easily...More

Ferries coming from Woods Hole come to Oak Bluff which is in Martha's Vineyard. Hope this answers your question.
