Lake Waban, partially owned by Wellesley college, is a joy year round. Less than a two mile run or leaisurely walk, it never fails to offer breathtaking sights, both on land and in the rippling waters.

Hiked around lake Waban which is my favorite hike in Wellesley. Beautiful with stately homes and majestic Wellesley College buildings abound. Although the path gets very narrow on the far end this 2.5 mile loop is a must. It can get busy with joggers walkers...More
Great place to enjoy a couple miles of beautiful nature on a trail that encircles Lake Waban. Much of the trail is on Wellesley College property, which, in turn, is one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. You could easily walk, hike, or...More

We have been to Lake Waban many many times, since our daughter is a student at Wellesley. It is such a beautiful lake with so many special little spots around it. And so many people from town walk their dogs there!
I’m sorry, I really don’t know the answer to that question. Although I think I’ve seen people on the water when I walked there. I moved the spring to North Carolina so I won’t be enjoying the lake myself anymore.
