A friend and I had lunch in Sturbridge and were looking for a place to walk after and admire the foliage. The waitstaff at the restaurant directed us to this location. It is within 5 miles off the Mass Pike, there were numerous trails and what appeared to be a large field that could accommodate a sports match. There is a map in the parking lot which has all the trails named and their distance, so you know before starting. We were there mid-afternoon on a weekday and the lot was almost filled up, it can only accommodate about 30 cars. The trail was beautiful and there were all age groups, bikers, joggers and walkers. Even though it was busy, there were enough trails that you weren't constantly in sight of other people, so social distancing wasn't an issue. I will be back after the winter!

Great spot for a picnic lunch with the family, letting the kids run wild, or simply enjoying the hike around the lake!

It wasn't open, but from what I could see, would be perfect for a drive thru or a leisurely walk. Was disappoint that I couldn't at least drive thru this time of year.

I enjoy the peace and tranquility of this recreation area. So nice and quiet as there are a few trails to enjoy walking, running, biking or having a picnic. There are some picnic tables with grills, running water to drink and restrooms nearby. There is a nice large grassy area to throw a football and other activities. On the opposite end from the Dam, you can go swimming as there are a few small opening spots to park and go for a dip.

Beautiful place to go. There’s a great recreation area with a couple grills that you can rent out, and the dam itself is a great place to visit if you have kids because it’s such a big structure they will most certainly be amazed.
