Interesting place to visit besides the regular stuff. Historical place. Give yourself a least 90 minutes to look and read.

Bring a flashlight to explore the cave, and hiking/walking shoes to explore some of the short trails. Good spot for a picnic. Adequate parking and signage.

There are more trails than shown on the Trustees of Reservations site, so pay attention out there! The Trustees portion is well maintained and features a mineshaft (blocked) and a LOT of mountain laurel.

The terrain is hilly and not as easy a hike as in Westville Recreation Area. But for those that like to get lost in the woods, it is a nice park. Websites mentioned ruins, which we found across the street, not in the park. There is also a lead mine opening on site, closed (for safety we assume). The woodland was quite heavily infested with gnats and mosquitoes on the day we went. These were particularly vicious. I had to keep my hood up and tied and sunglasses on; they were still crawling into my hood and literally "pinging" off my sunglasses as well as going up my nose and in my mouth. …
