Played the north course after several year hiatus. So disappointing.... no first cut from fairway... tees in terrible shape.. greens were long and SLOW. Played nearby munis that are on much better condition. Don't plan on returning in the near future.

Required carts. Greens had just been punched. They could have told us that ahead of time. Played the north course.

Stow Acres is a public golf club that also sells yearly memberships. The memberships are excellent values. The club has two 18 hole golf courses that are very different in terrain and challenges. The club ownership changed a year ago and the new owners have made a considerable investment in improving the club in all areas. The courses are being maintained to a high standard and the club house and facilities have all been updated. The staff is competent and friendly. I highly recommend Stow Acres.

All the tee boxes were either overdressed with sand, or no grass at all. The greens were high and very slow, you could not tell between the fringe and greens. If your ball just rolled into the woods, you could not find your ball because their was so much leaves, tree branches in there. There were so holes, where it looked like trees were cut down, so all you saw were tree stumps.
I used to play in a golf league here ( 3 years ago), and it was not in this condition. I asked someone in the clubhouse who the ground keeper was, he said there wasn't anyone. They have a young kid temporarily filling in. This shows me that the new owners really do not care about the quality of this golf course. Which used to be one of the top public golf courses in MA.

The quality of this golf course is not worth the greens fees they are charging

Played 18 on the North course today. The course was in terrible shape! Such a disappointment for what Stow Acres used to be. The greens were burned out and it is very obvious it is not being maintained well.

Not worth $72. Save your money and go to Red Tail.

Under the new management, the condition of the two courses is much improved, as are general operations. There are two courses, so pace of play is generally good. There is a grill room with liquor license and decent food. There is an excellent golf pro. They have a nice function room as well.

My family and I golf here often. We prefer the north course. Affordable prices and they usually have evening 9 hole spots available. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

I was staying in Boston and looking for a course to play and thought this place looked good.

It was an adventure to get there without a car but luckily it was on a Saturday and there wasn't much traffic to deal with.

I played the north course and really enjoyed it.

The course was full of people but the pace of play was good.

A lot of the holes were narrow so you had to hit good shots or you would be in trouble. The greens were in good shape and rolled semi fast.

If I lived in Boston I would play this course on a regular basis.

Stow Acres has two golf courses that back in the day were great layouts. Unfortunately they fellk to lack of attention by the then owners. Recently they were bought out and are being revised under new management. This was two years ago +/-. Their newsletters give them more credit than they deserve. The courses have supposedly or are having new irrigation, new tee boxes and sand traps. When we called they said that they were about 75% back to where they should be. We thought we would try it and see for ourselves. With all of the rain this spring they are really about 33% and need a lot more attention. Not worth the money in the end.
