I love animals very much, and I know some zoos are there to help animals and to give them happy life, but this zoo is just so upsetting. The enclosures are way too small. I saw tree monkeys in a tiny enclosure with nothing but...More

That zoo is different from Franklin Park, and this is an advantage. Apes and flamingos were stars for our kids. The zoo may benefit from a lactation room or a family restroom.

When my two grown sons asked where there was a zoo near by so that they could sketch animals for their art portfolios, I instantly said The Stone Zoo! I grew up near by and remember fondly all the trips to see the animals. My...More

While not as large in size as the Franklin Park Zoo by any means, we've always liked the Stone Zoo for it's convenience, parking, and location. In addition, the Zoo Lights, a traditional Christmas light display, is excellent.

I remember coming here as a child, and having a wonderful time. perhaps with age comes cynicism, or too much knowledge of how these animals live. But the attractions were smaller, sadder and in more disrepair than I recalled as a child. I wish the...More

The Stone Zoo is the baby sister of the Franklin Zoo, a much larger zoo owned by the same owners. We were taking care of our grandchildren age 2 1/2 and the zoo was only 10 minutes from the house. When we entered the ticket...More
