This is our first time here. The place is quite small which is something we expected before visiting. However, I think the ticket was quite pricey, $24.99 for both adult and kids. Our kids seem to enjoy it though.

This is a review of the birthday party my son had here, not a review of Legoland Boston's rides and attractions.

Booking the party by calling their toll-free line was fairly easy. The representative I talked to was very informative and very patient in answering all my questions. Once I had the exact number of guests attending all I had to do was call them back so they can charge me for the extra adults. Legoland Boston doesn't advertise their direct phone number so if you have questions specific to the venue (in my case I wanted to find out where the ice cream cake is from so I can check the ingredients in advance) you'll have to call the toll-free number and they'll relay the question to Boston.

The party hosts who greeted us at the lobby were very enthusiastic and amiable. They handed out wristbands to all the guests before shepherding us to the party room, which was already set up with party hats and Legos for the kids to assemble. The party room was very spacious IMO, with more than enough seats for all our 40 guests (20 kids and 20 adults) and plenty of room to spare. Once the kids were done putting their Legos together the hosts served the pizza then the yummy ice cream cake from J.P. Licks.

I'm rating our experience 3 stars for the following reasons:

1) The pizza was quite simply the most unappetizing pizza I've ever tasted. It was cold, greasy and the crust had the consistency of a cardboard. The only choices were cheese and pepperoni. Since the birthday package only included 4 pizzas (they determine the number of pizzas based on the number of kids) I had to pay for an additional 4 more for the grown-ups. Turned out to be a waste of money and food as we ended up with 3 1/2 boxes of leftovers (no one had seconds!), which we ended up tossing out because no one wanted to take it home.

2) The Lego set they built was not challenging at all for 7-year olds. Most of them finished it pretty quickly. It was a Lego Creator plane with around 50 pieces. Something you'll find at Target for $5. I expected something a little more complicated and I also expected a mix of boy- and girl-themed Legos. Oh well.

3) They don't have a place to store the gifts temporarily until it's time for us to leave. Instead, they gave us big plastic bags to dump all the gifts in after the party. My husband had to carry 2 huge plastic bags out of the party room, take the stairs to the ground floor, walk in the snow to our car, which was parked in the parking garage. It would have been nice to load them all in the car while the car's out front. It would have taken all of 10 seconds to load them.

Yes, the kids had tons of fun. It's Legoland after all. It's just not something I would recommend to friends looking for a party venue.

We went to Lego Land on the Monday of President's Day, and also school vacation - so it was INSANE. That said, my kids had a great time and I was only mildly stressed trying to keep track of them!

The ticket redemption was a bit harder than I expected - Viator sent through a redemption email, not tickets themselves, which the employees seemed confused by. That said, it worked out, but took a few minutes longer than I would have expected.

Worth a visit!

You are overpaying just for the experience of doing nothing!. We (grandfather, grandmother, and mother) brought an 11 year old to this attraction. It cost 22.95 per person for anyone over 2 years old; therefore it cost me $91.80 for 2 hours of nothing. I can't believe they charge the adults the same amount as a child who can play with the legos, to just sit (or stand mostly) and just watch. They do not take into consideration that a grandparent will do nothing but watch the child maybe have a good time. Although even our grandson did not enjoy the attraction and he is a big Lego fan and has been since a toddler. I think that adults should be charged only half the price of the child. It is a basic ripoff. Now about the attraction: it was noisy, Legos all over the floor to be walked on, seemed no one was observing the action of the children (except the observers who had to pay $23.00 a person for that privilege.) They advertised meeting "Lego" characters - but if they were there they were invisible. I would not recommend this attraction for anyone unless they had unlimited resources and wanted to waste that amount. The only halfway decent thing available was a "movie" of about 20 minutes that you got soaked in (how appropriate!!!) I think I have written enough for people to get the idea that they should be forewarned.

Hi Cam044, We’re sorry that your visit with us didn’t live up to your expectations. Our Playmakers work hard to create an environment that fosters play, creativity and learning for the whole family. It’s disheartening to hear this wasn’t your experience with us. If you’ll give us a chance to make it up to you – we’d jump at the opportunity. They need to market this to families with toddlers. Children beyond that age are not able to enjoy anything outside of the first ride and the mini-land. You are overpaying just for the experience of doing next to nothing, especially if your child is not a toddler. It cost 22.95 per person for anyone over 2 years old; therefore it cost us $98 for 2 hours for what my kids blew through (10 & 11) in less than 2 hours. It's terrible they charge the adults the same amount as a child to just sit (mainly stand) and just watch while being annoyed at all the screaming children and adults. They do not take into consideration that we as parents will be doing nothing but watching the child. It was very crammed and noisy, Legos were all over the floor to be walked on, seemed no one was observing the action of the children. They advertised meeting "Lego" characters and even had on the map. We were very excited about this, but they were nowhere to be found. The map does not indicate everything that is actually there, nor are you forewarned about all the ''extras'' I would not recommend this attraction for anyone unless they had toddlers. Beyond that age, it is a waste of time and money. Oh and the Lego ''Factory Tour'' is a load of garbage. It's a movie you watch on screen before you enter the center. There were also tons of inconsiderate adults. They were not watching their children, they were on their phones. And how about, the Lego Master Builder Academy, or as it should be called, the ''Lego Watch Someone Narrate an overhead set of instructions'' Academy. This was all my son wanted to do and when we waited an hour to get in the next session, he was told there were no seats available and there were adults sitting next to their children who wouldn't get up for him nor did a staff member ask them to to make room for him. The employees were of no help. We will not be going back at all and I hope others read this and do the same. It's a total ripoff and waste of time.

I’m not sure why this place gets so much flack. Very cute place for kids who like Lego. It’s not an all day thing but the area this business is in also is very nice, you’re basically in the middle of a strip of outlet shopping. We also couldn’t believe we spent almost 5 hours there and the parking was only $5,. Nice family outing, we would go again!

Ugh. Impossibly loud and cacophonous, just a constant barrage of sirens, songs, monster sounds, music all cranked up way too loud and playing simultaneously. The first ride is centered around shooting guns at video screens although there’s no way to know that until it’s too late. The models are excellent (Fenway Park, the prudential tower, Quincy market, etc) but the relentless noise ruins the experience.

Little brothers went to the Legoland in Boston and it was a blast. The mini Lego boston was pretty cool and rides are fun for kids and adults.

This place is absolutely awful. I tried to call a manager to complain but the only thing you can do when you call is order tickets. That tells you something right there.
First off, go to the bathroom you won't be able to until after a 3 hour wait. And, wear socks or you will need to buy them to do one of the only 3 things to do there.

This is a valid, real review of a family of six kids. I have been to the Lego land in Florida and this is not even close. This place is FAR, FAR too expensive for what is there. I would pay $5 MAX and I am extremely reasonable about pricing. Anywhere is Boston is more fun than this place - even if you have already been to all of them 100 times. Please, heed this advice and avoid this place at all costs.

Really, I cannot even believe the people of Somerville would let this ripoff of a place survive in their community - so I am calling boycott!

First off, I went with my six kids and ordered online to get in at "guaranteed" 10:30-11:00. We didn't get in until 12:30. We were then herded like cows through a bunch of mandatory videos, elevator, wait for elevator, it was painful. By 2:00 we actually got "IN." By then we were starving so we went directly to the lunch line but WHAT - they are SOLD OUT!! You cannot bring your own food, we waited in lines for 3.5 hours!! without snacks or a bathroom and the sandwiches are SOLD OUT!?! Again, this place is such a ripoff, I paid $132 for my family of 7 for 3.5 hours of wait time and then had to pay $40 for socks so my kids could jump in a bouncy (one of the three things to do here). They don't tell you the kids have to wear socks on the website so you have to buy their overpriced dollar store socks. Absurd! So $200 in the hole I tried to talk with a manager and guess what - there was not one available. Surprised? I think not. Please boycott this place. It would be better for your kids to play at a Chic Filet play area over this and I am not exaggerating at all.

To be fair, the ONLY highlight of the place is the movie which spits water at you but is really sexist and violent.

Sarah, Thank you for taking the time to review our attraction and we do sincerely apologize that you did not enjoy your experience. As we are a new attraction here in Somerville we tend to have very busy days as well as it being summer time we get many groups each day. This does create longer lines and longer waits which our team does its best to address. I do appreciate the feedback on our café and we have address the product levels at this time. We do require socks in the play area as we ask children to remove their shoes and this is clearly stated on our website under the areas description, and if they do not have socks we do sell them in the café for $1 so if you paid more than that please feel free to visit the site and we will refund the difference. If you would like to discuss this further please feel free to contact us through our website at www.legolanddiscoverycenter.com/boston. Thank You, David

We visited on opening weekend - we knew in advance this was likely a mistake, but try explaining that to an excited 7 year old! We had four adults and two kids in our party. The aforementioned 7 year old boy, and a 1.5 year old girl. We had read that the attraction was recommended for kids age 3-10, but expected them to accommodate little kids a bit more than they actually did. There were many other issues with our visit, though. Long story short, we won't be going back, and will tell everyone we can not to waste their time and money.

For starters, we had purchased tickets online weeks in advance, as recommended on the Legoland website. When you buy the tickets, they ask you to pick a time to visit. Our slot was 11:30AM. We were ready earlier but feared that we would get there and they wouldn't let us in. Given the location (in a shopping plaza) we knew there would be no "back up" to keep the kids entertained until our timed entrance. So, we decided to wait and instead arrive at about 11:15. What a mistake. We arrived to Assembly Row and there were no signs. For anything. We live in Boston so we have come to expect this, but since we have shopped at this plaza before it really shouldn't have been a problem for us. It was. We couldn't find Legoland, we couldn't find the parking garage, and the people "directing" traffic were no help. Finally we got ourselves parked and found the Legoland entrance, only to be met with a massive line.

The people in front of us had tickets for 12:00, and it was 11:15. We thought for sure someone would be checking tickets and would go in the order of the time on the ticket. No such luck. It was a free for all, with all times in line at the same time. It was a hot day and we had two kids out in the sun, at lunchtime, for an hour and a half before we even got to the check-in desk. Thank goodness it wasn't raining. We probably could have arrived at 10AM and been let in "early" with no problem.

Once we were let in, there were a series of additional "holding rooms" before we actually got to the attraction. They obviously attempted to take some cues from Disney by making people wait but making it seem to be part of the attraction. The first was a series of photos taken on a green screen while we waited for the elevator. Once we exited the elevator, we had to watch a (totally unnecessary) video explaining what would happen in the next room. When we got into that room, there was a 360 degree screen, with controls for "interactive" play with the movie they showed. After that, we went on a ride. These latter two things were totally inappropriate for a 1.5 year old, but there was no warning until we were in it. At no point did any staff person offer to let us skip through to the next section of the attraction. For the ride, we eventually figured out that my husband could wait with our daughter while the rest of us went on the ride.

After the ride there was a counter where we could look at the pictures they took of us at the entrance. The others went ahead while I waited in line, and I'm glad they did because that was another 15 minute wait, and the pictures were terrible. I was wearing a green sweater, yet no one had told me that I should take off that layer so I actually showed up in the picture.

The next "room" was Boston in miniature, which was very cool. After that, THEN we got to the main room with the other attractions. We were immediately struck by how small it was. There was a second ride, a building zone, movie theatre, obstacle course, cafe, and a VERY tiny spot for the age 2-5 crowd. The Duplo blocks they provided were in a container the size of a kiddie pool, and there was a small slide that was overrun by 8-10 year olds. There was a sign saying the section was not monitored, and they weren't kidding. So much for a dedicated space for little kids. We spent about 15 minutes there with our 1.5 year old and were done for the day. Just boring, and not worth the energy to make sure she wasn't trampled by the big kids.

We got some lunch (way overpriced, and NO highchairs available - as in, they don't have them onsite) and waited for about an hour while the 7 year old did some of the activities. We then decided to split the group up. Two adults left with the 1.5 year old and two stayed with the 7 year old. He had a great time - once we got in - so I can't say the attraction is all bad. But what a ripoff for what you pay. $22.50/adult and $18 for the 7 year old meant we spent almost $100 just to get in. And lunch was $24 for two meager sandwiches, two sodas, a pretzel/hummus cup, and a milk. The website says no outside food, but I saw several families with cooler bags. So much for following the rules.

It does not live up to the hype. As I mentioned at the beginning, we won't be going back.
