It's situated on the cliffs right past a gorgeous neighborhood and has a beautiful view. The lighthouse was not open when we were there, but the lighthouse itself is beautiful and there are information stands where you can learn the history. It's a must see.

The Sankaty Head Lighthouse is a "must see" while in Nantucket. You can drive, ride a bike or see it on a tour. Any way you get there will be well worth it. Built in 1860 and is a land mark. The views are beautiful.
Probably one of the prettiest lighthouse anywhere, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Sankaty Golf Club on the other, it's in the Sconset area of the island. If you can do the Cliff Walk on the way out to the lighthouse.
