This lighthouse was a stop on a tour my wife and I went on. Great views atop a cliff of Atlantic Ocean and Sankaty Golf Course.

The lighthouse was our first stop when we arrived on Nantucket. We drove through the town of beach cottages. (In summer these are the rose covered cottages.) The lighthouse was not as tall as we expected, but was recently painted. It overlooks the bluffs and the golf course. Very majestic.

Beautiful autumn day and a lovely drive out to Sconset. The lighthouse sits on an eroding bluff there are signs explaining the history of the lighthouse and it's a leisurely stroll. Check out the bluffs we saw feeding seals just off shore. There is also great birding activity. Beautiful salt box cottages to look at

We stopped here as part of an overall Nantucket van tour (which I highly recommend) The lighthouse is HUGE and really beautiful. As a bonus, the views of the valley below on one side and the ocean on the other side are amazing. It is also a fun ride to get there going through the historic and awesome homes.

We saw this during our tour of the island via Gail's tours. What a lovely day to view the lighthouse. Enjoyed it immensely.

Situated on a bluff high over the Atlantic Ocean, the lighthouse provides views, history and contemplation. To the north and east is the ocean, to the south and west are the moors and a golf course. There is a board detailing the geology of the place and an in-ground tablet detailing the move back from the ocean several years ago to... More

We could not get too close to the lighthouse but it looks neat from a distance. It is on the easternmost point on Nantucket. It was built in 1850 and was one of the first to receive a Fresnel lens. It has been move several hundred feet from its original location to keep it from falling into the ocean.

It was great to see a working lighthouse. It's is a wonderful example of what it was before it was moved due to erosion of the soil. Some limited hiking trails along the shore, parking is very limited. A nice piece of history.

Beautiful lighthouse on Nantucket, a must see. Sits on top of the bluffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
