Three of us played a round here in September. It was a beautiful sunny day with luckily only a slight breeze. Our handicaps are 9, 11 & 30. After reading up on the course the 30 handicapper was a little nervous about playing but didn’t really have any problems.

On the first nine holes due to the crossovers it did make us quite nervous about the possibility of being hit by a ball. We can honestly say we haven’t called out four so many times on a course. The back was more open.

Having said all that we enjoyed our afternoons golf & our wives/ partners joined us afterwards for a couple of drinks sat outside.

It was a shame we couldn’t get into the open competition at the weekend as that was £60 for a fourball. We played on the Monday & for three of us it was £120.

We booked this on a 2 fore 1 offer, which made it half price at £25 each for a round.
It certainly wasn’t worth £50 a round.
The pro was extremely pleasant when we arrived, and explained a few things to us.
We hit a few balls in the net, and had a few chips before going out.
The greens had been dressed, and there was the odd temporary green.
Unfortunately we only played six holes, as the weather turned on us.
Of the holes we played, the views were fabulous, however a couple of the holes we played were a little worrying, as you simply didn’t know where you were going, with various blind spots.

Played here as a 3 ball and felt really welcomed by a couple of the members who chatted to us in the car park beforehand. Weather was idillic to begin with but did close in later on although I did expected that on lynx course by the sea.
Our round was spoilt by the green keeper who on four separate holes saturated the green as we played making putting almost impossible. He made no attempt to move aside or to move the hose that was laid across the green. He barely moved when I was playing out of a green side bunker - not ideal and quite unsettling. On one hole, after soaking the green leaving puddles, he suggested I should find a dry line to put out - there wasn’t one as he had soaked all over!! Even some members behind us were annoyed at his behaviour and said we should complain.
When I did at the Pro Shop afterwards, I was told that I should have asked him to move. However, as I explained, I was a guest and these guys work for the club not me!
REALLY DISAPPOINTED!

I attended a three course meal with approximately 35 other people. This was without doubt the poorest lunch that I have had the misfortune to attend. Each part of the meal was served in such a haphazard manner that several members of each table had to start eating before the others were served their meals because the food would become cold. In fact I must have drawn the short straw as I couldn't stomach the chewy beef, rock hard cauliflower cheese and deep fried "roast potatoes ". The poor waitresses were run off their feet trying to keep up as there wasn't enough staff, in fact they had to shut the bar at least once!
The staff should have concentrated on one table at a time rather than serving two or three on each one.
Needless to say I and probably most of the rest won't be eating here again, it used to be fairly decent for food here, shame.

Really suffered after the dry summer, all the definition has disappeared and upkeep not the best. Criss crossing and quirky layout might be OK after several rounds but for a first time visit it’s a bit tedious. Very little signage between holes to tell you where to go!

With all the rain and clubs closed everywhere, we were off main tees and greens. and the course was in good condition. Long round of golf with a stiff breeze creating a challenge. Beautiful views out to sea.
Club house was welcoming and wasn't expensive.
Looking forward to returning.

Another excellent visit to a wonderful golf club. My second visit to WCGC and the hospitality was again excellent. The pro shop was very accommodating, the course amazing, views exceptional and the food exquisite. I highly recommend this course and club to all golfers. Thanks once again from a Derbyshire golfer.

I had to post this to remind myself never to play here again.

You could get killed playing West Cornwall. There is not one hole that you could not get hit .

The first is a par three where you could pull your shot and hit someone on the 14th green, with the possibility of being hit by someone playing the par three 15th.

And this is just the start, and it get worse.

There is simply not enough room for an 18 hole golf course and with modern equipment someone will get killed on this golf course.

Although the course is in good condition with some stunning views it is simply dangerous. I've played a lot of golf but never played a course with so many shared fairways, holes crossing over one another and blind holes. So disappointed !

I recently had the pleasure of playing this scenically beautiful links course with a group of friends from Scotland. The condition of the course was excellent, and it was a very fair but challenging round for mid to high handicap golfers. Moreover the reception that we received from the members and staff on our visit was very warm and friendly. I would certainly recommend to any keen golfer who is visiting Cornwall, to stop and take the time to visit WCGC. You most certainly will not be disappointed!
