"Pot holes" has a diffenrent meanig in the USA as opposed to the UK. In the UK "pot hole" means a hole in the road surface. These "potholes" are large holes in the river bed below the dam. made over thousands of year by rocks eddying round making holes in the suface bigger and bigger. Interesting.

This is a short walk from either end of the Bridge of Flowers. It only takes a brief viewing along a railing on the east side of the Deerfield River.

Walking 20-30 feet south of the same railing, you can view the Salmon Falls. By the railing are concrete spots to hang out on, nice trees, shrubs, a bench to have picnic on.

If you’re just driving through, there are a few spots for parking.

The Shelburne Glacial Potholes is a wonderful place to stop and visit. The potholes formed 14,000 years ago. The Deerfield River eroded these holes, it is fascinating to think about how water is responsible for this. This is a free attraction. Parking can be a tricky situation, especially during the peak times. There is a small lot at the potholes and metered parking on Bridge Street. I was there on a weekend and it was really busy. I parked on Deerfield Avenue, closer to Bridge Street. I didn't see any double yellow lines or meters. I was only at the Glacial Potholes for about a half an hour.

When I visited (in October) it was a town mandate that masks had to be worn at all times, even outside. The rule might still be in effect but don't let it keep you from seeing the sites in Selburne, it's a beautiful little town.

It was not so long ago that you could experience this glacier created phenomenon first hand by walking to them, and weather permitting swim in and around them. They can still be seen, but from afar and through a chain link fence (not the same).

As is often the case, some of the folks visiting here were not good stewards of this local treasure, and in an effort to protect the ignorant from themselves, the powers in charge closed the area so no one could have access (hurt themselves).

There were a number of local craftspeople that occupied the few storefronts close by, and they seemed to have a good business selling to the tourists and locals seeking unique treasures and gifts. Unfortunately These businesses are no longer there.

Interesting potholes and beautiful rocks near the falls in Shelburne. Sadly you can only see them from the railings above and can't go down to them to really appreciate their size. Still, being steps from the Bridge of Flowers, you should take the time to see them.

We were there to see the bridge of flowers and had to walk over to this area to check it out. Such an amazing eyeful! The striations in the rock - and of course the potholes - were amazing to see!

We visited here after crossing the Bridge of Flowers across the street. The potholes are pretty with the water flowing down from above. The Judge movie with Robert Downey Jr was filmed here. Stop at the restaurant Baked for a scone or other delicious baked good to enjoy on the benches overlooking the potholes. Free with lots of free parking nearby, as well as a variety of stores and art.

My wife and I visited the Salmon Falls, and thus simultaneously the Glacial Potholes, after visiting the local bridge of flowers. Having been to various fjords and canyons, it's always amazing to see the power of both ice and water.

Worth a detour from the main street through town. These “potholes” are near a dam with a beautiful overflow. Very little parking but if you continue to the left down the street you will find ample spaces .
